Wisconsin Governor Mirrors Christie

Some claim this is a salvo across the bow of the public employees' union ship in line with the efforts of NJ Gov. Chris Christie. It looks pretty tame to me - holding union pay raises to the CPI, making contracts valid for one year only, and exempting state police and firefighters from his rules.
Still it puts the lie to Joe Manchin's claim about the "employer having the last say" as if that were needed...

Re: Wisconsin Governor Mirrors Christie
OC,
It does require more contributions to pension and health insurance, doesn't it?
I think the Governor is telling the public sector unions that the party is over, and he makes a point to include himself in that. I like what he has to say, tame though it is. These folks really are not used to people telling them "no," and the more times it happens before the economy recovers, the better, because once the rest of the public is doing well, forget about the will of the complacent to hold AFSCME and friends to task.

Well, that's a good and valid point, Sheik. Besides it's only his second month on the job. Wait until he gets really jaded...
