The Gwinnett County (GA) Daily Post categorizes hapless criminal Larry Morgan as a Tea Party member after his having struck an Obama supporter across the face with a pool cue. The assault took place January 31, 2009 - or sixteen days before Rick Santelli's televised rant which began the Tea Party. While Mr. Morgan was a self-described Tea Party member, we can only point out that he was a criminal before the Tea Party began. Therefore, he cannot claim his membership (if it exists) drove him to the crime. That has not stopped the national media from pointing out the violence of Tea Party members against those with whom they disagree. We must remain civil in our discourse...

Only conservatives and libertarians must display civility while speaking. "Progressives" and other liberals can call for sitting Supreme Court justices to be expelled from the country, tortured, even "strung up".

Therefore, he cannot claim his membership (if it exists) drove him to the crime. That has not stopped the national media from pointing out the violence of Tea Party members against those with whom they disagree.

I read or watch national media an hour or so every day- sometimes more, sometimes less. I have not seen any such physical violence pointed out. But I may have simply overlooked or failed to make mental note of it.

Yup, no matter what partisan Democrats, lefties, liberals, socialists or political hacks say about you, your family or your friends ....... you should remain civil and unless you got something nice or good to say in response ........ then just keep your damn mouth shut.

You've never seen Nancy Pelosi brandish her over-sized gavel on a useless walk through a hostile crowd? There were also claims of spitting and racial invective although not a single $200 cell phone camera caught any of it.

I suspect Sam Cogar's last line is good advice in any atmosphere.
