Seniors making a difference
Seniors making a difference
As we get older we sometimes begin to doubt our ability to
"make a difference" in the world. It is at these times that
our hopes are boosted by the remarkable achievements of
other "seniors" who have found the courage to take on
challenges that would make many of us wither.
Harold Schlumberg is such a person:
QUOTE FROM HAROLD:
"I've often been asked, 'What do you old folks do now that
you're retired?' Well, I'm fortunate to have a chemical
engineering background, and one of the things I enjoy most
is converting coffee and ice tea into urine. Then I spray it
over a photo of Obama! I do it every day and I really enjoy it."
Harold is an inspiration to us all.

So "piss Christ" is not OK, but "piss Obama" is OK. Now we understand.

They were / are both just men. It does not take "long" to understand that. That we profess to loathe one and love the other simultaneously, or vice-versa, tells us more about us than about either Jesus or Obama.

It is okay, Ziggy. It's a wash! Obama is a Muslim. So, it is kind of a Piss Mohammad. Isn't it?

If a person chooses to pee on a picture of Jesus, that's their choice. What burns me, is when tax dollars are extorted from me and used to support such acts, calling it supporting the arts.

As you have no authority to make such a declaration, that is your opinion, right Ziggy!!!

Re: Seniors making a difference
Ahhh, Zig. For shame! Shame!! Oooohhhhhh.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Obama was born (in Hawaii) 50 some years ago and wouldn't die for anyone's sins even if he could.
But, let's take questions of Truth out of it--you do know that more people worship Jesus than Obama, don't you? As such, the piss art greatly offended many more masses of people than Keli's piece would, which is far less graphic also. Do you suppose that such a comparison is uncharitable? I suggest that it is.

I do not need any "authority" to state the obvious- and which, coincidentally, does agree with my opinion.

But, let's take questions of Truth out of it--------.
Which kind of Truth? Political Truth, or Religious Truth? But as both often represent more Un-Truth than Truth anyway, questions of Truth are already out of it.

Uncharitable? Maybe. But if charity were the standard here, Keli would have refrained from his original post this thread.

It's OK with me. I have no more and no less loathe nor love for any one of the three than I do the others. So bring 'em on.

75% of Americans disagree with you and would say like me, prove the obvious agrees with you.

So it's OK to be uncharitable because Keli is? As long as the man is influencing you, you do well to hear what he says about Jesus.

The Keli of this forum does not talk much about Jesus- if at all. Keli here is mostly a political "hit man"- offering all manner of short and long rants about his many political and/or philosophical nemeses- and as best I recall, little to nothing about Jesus. But, in the inimitable fashion of Ross Perot, I'm all ears.

I used to wonder why the Pastor didn't make his case. Then I saw the writing of those who question the existance of his belief system and now I understand why he remains silent on the subject.

Hey, I understand. I don't know of many Preachers or Pastors who would discuss the bible with someone who has their mind made up and their sole agenda is to elicit an argument, especially when that person has proven time and again they don't have a clue as to what they are talking about.
I figured it was either that or you ran out of gold stars one.

I'm curious Ziggy, why do you feel compelled to disprove the existance of Jesus and to ridicule the belief of his followers?

I really like Ziggy.
Having said that, I think the man is a true child of the 1960s. It is almost as if the man takes radical positions just for the sake of taking them.
