I'm very curious (and anxious about the thoughts of the rest of you) as to what impact, if any, Usama's death will have on the "war on terror." I don't see this leading to any actual withdrawal of US forces, but I wonder if there might be some disheartened AlQaeda types.

Just like with Saddam, I think the death of this fool is as great a time as any to pack up and move along, leaving behind the promise to "do this again" should another 9/11 occur. The point has been made, can't we go back (or there in the first place) to paying off our debts?

I don't think it will make a bit of difference Mike. I listened to all the talking heads on the Sunday morning shows and none of them believe we should bring our troops home from Afghanistan. In fact, they told of how desparate the world would get and how much danger we would be in from Pakistan if we were to abandon that part of the world.

Well, it is not as though we are doing that much good there as it is. I don't mind the CIA keeping tabs of matters in Pakistan and alerting us to a national security threat. Not in the least. But "benign neglect" in a more general manner will probably do more good than the harm we cause by constantly getting in the world's business.

Now we can turn our attention to a subject which will thrill adolescent boys everywhere: punishing the one-eyed mullah!

I think "pin the tail on the one-eyed mullah" is catchy enough.
