[Muslim] Militants urge British rioters to topple system

CAIRO (AP) — Militant online forums are abuzz with calls to Muslims in Britain to launch Internet campaigns in support of the British rioters and to urge them to topple the government.

"They call it looting and criminality. It's not that. There's a real hatred against the system. ...

"They're screwing the system so only white, middle-class kids can get an education," a protester said.

Britain's torment offers a grim warning for America, which has an even-worse gulf between privileged families and left-out people. Conservatives in Washington are demanding severe cuts in "safety net" programs that sustain lower rungs of society and offer hope for advancement. If the conservatives succeed, they could be jolted by what follows.
