That was some really good commentary.

And relative to this, to wit:

Broke nations are being bailed out by a broke transnational organization bankrolled by a broke superpower in order to save a broke currency. Good luck with that.

Nothing bout that ...... that WWIII couldn't clean up and get back on solid footing.

And I sure liked his assessment on this, to wit:

America “invests” more per student than any other nation except Switzerland, and it has nothing to show for it other than a vast swamp of mediocrity presided over by a hideous educrat monopoly.

Our nation's investment in education as a percentage of GDP has doubled in the last ten years with no appreciable difference in outcomes. And to think Bernie Madoff will spend the rest of his life in prison for a much smaller scam...

The problem is that education is not a "thing" on which to be spent money. Union dues, textbooks, teacher salaries, administrative costs, swimming pools, field trips, conferences, "teacher institutes," these can all have money spent on them, but of course no one argues for more money for teacher institutes, trainings, or administrator salaries, they call it "education."

The evolution of education in America.

In the 16th, 17th and 18th Century the populace was illiterate, basically ZERO tax dollars were being expended on education and the majority of America’s populace remained uneducated.

Starting in the late 18th and continuing up thru the mid 20th Century (1960’s), expenditures of tax dollars on education increased steadily and consistently, driven by the “wants n’ needs” of the ever increasing student population and thus the majority of America’s student population was being educated.

But then in the late 20th Century (1970’s) and continuing up into the 21st Century of today, expenditures of tax dollars on education increased exponentially, driven by the “wants, needs n’ greed” of the Educators themselves and thus the majority of America’s student population is now being miseducated.

Thus, the evolution of education in America has resulted in an uneducated populace …….. becoming an educated populace, ……. and now becoming a miseducated populace, ……… which will surely result in the populace becoming uneducated and illiterate once again.

It is a whole lot easier and less expensive to educate the uneducated and illiterates ……. than it is to attempt any re-education of the miseducated.

And that is because the miseducated are absolutely sure of the fact that they know a whole lot better and much, much more than you do.

Starting in July, financially struggling West Virginia State University must swing the cost of financing two presidential salaries, thanks to a contract agreement by the state Higher Education Policy Commission and WVSU Board of Governors to fund retiring president Hazo Carter's full $167,444 a year salary until 2014.

"Ideally you'd only have to pay one presidential salary at a time, but in this situation, we have to complete our obligations [to President Carter] under the contract," Larry Rowe, chairman of the WVSU Board of Governors, said Friday.

Carter, who has served as WVSU president since 1987, announced in August that he would resign as university president in July 2012, one week after he received a vote of "no confidence" from the university's Faculty Senate. WVSU professors blamed Carter's leadership on the school's declining enrollment and more than $3.5 million budget deficit.

No, they do not have to pay Carter. He resigned. And this type of mismanagement is the rule, not the exception in West Virginia Higher Education.
