Carter and Gore--the worms turn...

Mr. Peanut and the Father of the Internet and Global Warning are going to endorse Barack Osama. This could be the final straw for the HRCamel.

DEMOCRAT grandees Jimmy Carter and Al Gore are being lined-up to deliver the coup de grāce to Hillary Clinton and end her campaign to become president. Falling poll numbers and a string of high-profile blunders have convinced party elders that she must now bow out of the primary race.
Former president Carter and former vice-president Gore have already held high-level discussions about delivering the message that she must stand down for the good of the Democrats.
"They're in discussions," a source close to Carter told Scotland on Sunday. "Carter has been talking to Gore. They will act, possibly together, or in sequence."

Ah, but will their endorsements matter to those bitter Pennsylvanians?

Re: Carter and Gore--the worms turn...
As for WV Democrats, I figure Carter and Gore's endorsement will mean about as much as John Kerry and Ted Kennedy did in Mass. and California.
They keep setting Hillary up for the KO blow but she just takes it like a man and runs strong. Neck and Neck.
The Obama crowd is starting to renege on their demands that the nomination not be decided by the so-called super delegates.
(because for Obama to win he will need the super delegates. Same as Hillary)

Re: Carter and Gore--the worms turn...
I don't know Aaron. I only get home once a week usually.
I have been saying it for a long time, but it seems like the Obama folks just figured it out.
I figure lots of others saw that a long time ago based on the math and the fact no decision seems imminent on Mich and Fla.
But the Obama crowd kept saying the so-called super delegates should not "overturn the vote of the people", etc.
Well the so-called vote of the people does not give either candidate a majority.
And if they follow their own suggested rules then John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Bill Richardson, Jay Rockefeller, et al would have to vote for Hillary.
Wouldnt that be a hoot.?

Sure you do Sherm. I'm confident you read every post on here when you get home.
You can also keep up on the road as most truck stops now have computer and internet capabilities.
I'm also sure you've seen me say that when the media says people follow the will of the people, I've bought up the fact that BO has a great deal of independent and republican voters and questioned whether superdelegates should follow the will of the voters or the will of the democratic voters.
So what do you think?

Well Aaron you give me too much credit. I dont read all that's been said all week.
But I agree if you are saying Hillary would be ahead if only Dems could vote in the Dem Primary.
But I also think John Edwards would still be in if that was the case.
And, if I was the king of the Democrats, only Democrats would be voting in Dem. Primaries.
I say let the Independents and Republicans nominate their own candidates.

Re: Carter and Gore--the worms turn...
I'll agree with that, all cepting the part about John Edwards. At best, he may have garnered 20% of the vote and stayed a few weeks longer, but sooner or later he was done.
Don't worry though Sherm. I'm sure we'll see in in Iowa long about next February regardless of who wins.

Re: Carter and Gore--the worms turn...
Well Aaron I wonder what your crystal ball says?
Will the so-called super delegates go to Obama?
If so, will he renege on his earlier pontification and accept the nomination as a result of their support?
Or will they deadlock and come up with a compromise candidate who can win?

Re: Carter and Gore--the worms turn...
They are democrats Sherm. They will do what they do best. Take a poll and do whatever it says. If it were to say nominate Jeb Bush, that's exactly what they would do because they can't think or act without a poll.

Also Terri I hate to bust your bubble but this indicates Carter will not endorse Obama as you say.
It also points out the pettiness of Ted Kennedy and his lack of grace when he failed to beat Carter in 1980.
The endorsement of Kennedy and "swiftboat" John Kerry are obviously meaningless to Dems who want to win.
