Global Warming Average Temps ain't what they should be
Just Hit The NOAA Motherlode

I spent the evening comparing USHCN V1 and V2 graphs, and discovered a huge discrepancy between their V1 and V2 adjustments.
Bottom line is that the NCDC US temperature record is completely broken, and meaningless.
Adjustments that used to go flat after 1990, now go up exponentially. Adjustments which are documented as positive, are implemented as negative.

It appears James Hansen et el has finally been outed for playing "foot loose & fancy free" with the US Temperature Records.
Which some of us already knew was happening ..... thus the reason I've been accusing them of using "fuzzy math" now for several years.

Yup, and when they do the above ....... they get the following results, to wit:
2013 was one of the 10 hottest years on record;
January 21, 2014, 3:38 p.m.
According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's calculations, 2013 is tied with 2009 and 2006 as the seventh hottest year since global temperature record keeping began in 1880.
