Actual heroes verses PC “appointed” heroes

I am and have been literally disgusted with all the thousands (1,000s) of Politically Correct “appointed” heroes which very few to none of them has ever done anything heroic.
John McCain is no Audie Murphy or Sergeant Alvin York.
If anyone knows of anything that John McCain has done that could even remotely be considered as being a “heroic act” ...... then please tell me what it was.
