Ron Paul excluded from Fox News forum Larry Fester
Published 12/29/2007 - 12:48 a.m. EST
Republican fund raising frontrunner Ron Paul will be excluded from a Fox News Forum scheduled for just two days before the New Hampshire Primary.
Paul’s campaign said that according to the New Hampshire State Republican Party and an Associated Press report, Republican presidential candidate and Texas Congressman Ron Paul will be excluded from an upcoming forum of Republican candidates to be broadcast by Fox News on January 6, 2008. The decision appears to have been made by Fox News.
“Given Ron Paul’s support in New Hampshire and his recent historic fundraising success, it is outrageous that Dr. Paul would be excluded,” said Ron Paul 2008 campaign chairman Kent Snyder. “Dr. Paul has consistently polled higher in New Hampshire than some of the other candidates who have been invited.”
Snyder continued, “Paul supporters should know that we are continuing to make inquiries with Fox News as to why they have apparently excluded Dr. Paul from this event.”
Ron Paul made history on December 16th when he raised over 6 million dollars in one day. The amount is more than any other political candidate in history has accumulated in one day. In fact, Paul financially speaking is in the best position to win the Republican nomination and is already funded through February 5th when 23 states are up for grabs.
There is a loophole regarding FCC equal time laws for breaking news and debates. Media conglomerates have been giving far less speaking time to Ron Paul during presidential debates and have given scant coverage to his campaign during newscasts. Regardless, Paul has embarrassed alleged frontrunners by raising more money than they have during the fourth quarter, remarkably from 50 and 100 dollar donors. Paul’s campaign has continuously drawn larger crowds than his opponents as well.
The ultimate embarrassment may be to Fox News, especially if Paul wins the New Hampshire primary two days after the forum.
While Paul has consistently registered poorly in media generated polls, his fund raising, and sizable crowds attending his rallies across the country, has made it obvious that he has enormous support.
Paul continues to campaign to end the federal income tax and the Federal Reserve’s inflation tax by returning to ‘Sound Money’ policies. Paul promises to end the Iraq war and bring U.S. troops home immediately. He also promises to repeal the Patriot Act, protect the Bill of Rights, and the U.S. Constitution.
Paul supports a non-interventionist foreign policy and has promised to secure America’s borders to strengthen national defense
Re: Ron Paul excluded from Fox News forum
Just as in 2000 Ralph Nader, when allowed to speak publicly, made both Bush and Gore appear as but blubbering idiots by comparison, so does Ron Paul in 2007. The establishment politicia is scared as hell of him- as they should be. If pople would but vote their hopes instead of their fears, Paul would win hands down.

Re: Ron Paul excluded from Fox News forum
Two reasons:
1. Ron Paul has excluded himself by stating his intentions to run as a third-party candidate. He has no business being in a Republican debate any longer.
2. They are starting to drop all the candidates who are polling nationally in the single digits. You won’t see Keyes or Cox in there either.

Are you sure?
Paul, however, downplayed expectations that he will run on a potential third-party libertarian ticket, saying “I have no intention of doing that.”
When asked by host Tim Russert if he would promise not to run, Paul demurred, saying, “I deserve one wiggle now and then” and that he was “99.9 percent” sure he would not run.

Has anyone else- either Democrat or Republican- declared with such surety that he or she will not run as a 3rd party candidate?

I have repeatedly heard Dr. Paul say he has no intentions of running as a third party candidate.
Ron Paul is polling higher than Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson in numerous polls in various states. Recent polls have put him in double digits in Iowa.
He is the only Republican candidate with the financial resources to carry his campaign through to "Super Duper Tuesday".
I'd like to know how it is Fox and others manage to circumvent the law by denying some candidates equal air time. For the record, I believe Alan Keyes should be included in GOP debates if other candidates polling at 1% (Hunter) are being included.
Perhaps you find it acceptable that the mainstream media is dictating to the American people what candidates are worthy of our attention. I am not. It is an outrage.
I assure you I am not alone. Tens of thousands of households will boycott Fox, mine included. If they fail to take corrective action in the next few days, we will be boycotting their sponsors as well, and we are letting the sponsors know it.
Re: Ron Paul excluded from Fox News forum
Ah well it would appear this was a hoax.
On Thursday Big Head DC wrote that Fox News was airing a debate being held in NH on January 6th and excluding Ron Paul.
http://bigheaddc.com/2007/12/27/fox-news-to-host-special-gop-candidate-forum/
The Associated Press reported, and several news agencies carried the story, that Ron Paul was being excluded by Fox News. Paul's campaign issued a press release later that day based upon the AP report.
This story is much worse than I feared.
Ron Paul isn't being excluded by Fox News. That would have been bad enough.
No, the real story is the American people can't rely on the Associated Press for anything close to accurage reporting. Shame on them.

Re: Ron Paul excluded from Fox News forum
Apparently Fox News is having a "forum" of sorts and excluding Dr. Paul. Chris Wallace will host a roundtable discussion.
This situation has me frustrated beyond belief not only because of Dr. Paul's exclusion, but also because of the efforts of some to ridicule Congressman Paul and his supporters for crying foul over this.
I can't wait till this election is over. This campaign season started too early and is dragging on too long.

But Steph, a consulation is, ....... Glenn Beck, HNN, hosted Ron Paul for the whole hour of one of his "prime time" shows, ........ and that "show" has been re-aired several times since.
I only caught the "tail end" of the (I think) original airing ....... but watched it in its entirity last evening.

I watched it the night it originally aired. I was surprised at how respectful Beck was. In the past he has referred to Paul supporters as terrorists and the like. lol
