My Celtics are rolling on. Great game for Paul Pierce. Go Green!

Wait 'til SamCogar hears about this, and then you'll be toast again, Linda.

Re: Celtic Pride
That however Ziggy is not a good attitude on his part. We all have our sports teams and they are as important to us as food and drink. I am also a Patriot's fan and I follow U Conn and Boston College sometimes.

Re: Celtic Pride
Linda, sometimes I like to bug ole' Sam. And sometimes I like to to bug other people about Sam. So don't take me too seriously. Really, I like the guy. I just like to give him as good as he gives us.

Re: Celtic Pride
I don't care much for the male team sports thing, other than hockey. I'm a huge Bruins fan. I do route for all the NE teams though and am very proud of the success the Sox, Pats and Celtics have achieved recent years. I'm just wondering when the good times are gonna roll for the Boston Bruins again. *sighs*
Re: Celtic Pride
Sorry about last night. All of a sudden my internet service cut out .I was not pleased. I don't take it too seriously Ziggy. Sometimes it is healthy for people to get as good as they give.

Re: Celtic Pride
I used to follow the Bruins. I haven't since it seems their owners don't care about having a good team. All the other Boston teams I follow. Especially the Sox. Around this area the summer is made or lost on the Sox. The excitement. The tears. Sometimes the swears when they lose. My Dad (and lots of others) waited all their lives to see them win the World Series. He loved Larry Bird. Watched the Celtics faithfully.

Re: Celtic Pride
In CT there are a lot of Yankees fans! LOL The rivalry between the fans there gets pretty intense!
Re: Celtic Pride
Curiously, I spent a week in Massachusetts a few years back. I was driving through R.I. and asked a fellow at a convenience store what the Yankees had done that week. He said he didn't know. They had played a three game series with the Red Sox that week but I'd seen no sports while I was there.

Re: Celtic Pride
Conn. does have a lot of Yankees fans. Rhody has some There was just a problem here with a Yankees fan went to a bar where Red Sox fans were known to congregate wearing a Yankees shirt and got into a confrontation with the Red Sox fans. The Yankees fan was a woman who then left the bar. Instead of leaving it alone the Red Sox fans followed her out to her car name calling ect. She got into her car and they surrounded it . She got frightened and ran one of them over killing the Red Sox fan. That is the intensity of the rivalry sometimes. It gets way out of hand. I love the Red Sox but not to run someone over about, or even to fight about it. We should wear our team shirts and hats with pride and let the teams do the fighting on the field.

Re: Celtic Pride
My husband's best friend is a native RI'er, and a Yankees fan. One day when my children were walking to school they saw him driving down the road. They were about 12 & 13. Anyway they had these Red Sox caps on and they started pointing to their hats as he was driving by. He didn't realize it was them at first and gave them the finger! lol
That was 5 years ago and Neil STILL apologizes for that because he didn't recognize them at first! I just keep telling him he shouldn't be flipping off kids period. lol

Re: Celtic Pride
The Red Sox Yankees rivalry is always like that. On the other side of it either one or two years ago a Red Sox fan was in Yankee stadium wearing his Red Sox hat and shirt. When he went to use the rest room Yankees fans grabbed him, dragged him into a quiet place and beat him up. It goes way too far.

Re: Celtic Pride
I bet Aaron remembers this.
A few years ago it was in the Gazette.
Some "friends" set this guy up and got him to put on a Pitt jersey and got a good pic that looked like he was cheering.
Then on the big WVU-Pitt game they took out a big ad in the paper with the banner "John Jones says 'Go Pitt beat WVU'"
(wonder if he ever got even....)
