Re: Who McCain should pick
Every NIE in the world stated, and the weapons inspectors agreed, Sadaam Hussein has WMD's and was a threat to America. No matter how much you say otherwise doesn't change those simple facts.
No, that's just another of the Bush administration's lies. The U.N. weapons inspectors did not agree. And it was because they didn't agree that Bush hurried things up and had them removed from their inspection duties.

Re: Who McCain should pick
I would say that in honesty, integrity and trustworthyness, imo, you and he are very close Frank.
Oh dear.
If the President of the United States- the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces- has no more honesty, integrity and trustworthyness than that notoriously dishonest, untrustworthy liar Ziggy, the why should any self-respecting either civilian or military person give respect to anything that springs forth from that President's command?

I figured you didn't believe him. Looks like I was right.
That the best you can do Frank? It's substandard for your usual drivel.

It really bothers you to be wrong so much, doesn't it Frank. Regardless of how much you continue to say otherwise, the NIE's said what they said and the believe of the ENTIRE intelligence community concurred;Sadaam Hussein had WMD's.

Re: Who McCain should pick
Back to the topic, I did a little reading on Palin last night. An experienced Mcain with a young Palin would certainly counter the team of a young Obama and an experience Biden and if nothing else put out the subliminal message that Republicans don't allow their young and experienced to lead them. Given that the 'names' in the Republican party are less then enthusastic, I think a young, fresh faced consertative would do wonders for McCain.

Re: Who McCain should pick
Americans have not elected a sitting U.S. Senator since 1960. This year will be the first in forty-eight years. Voters like their chief executives to have executive experience. She'd lend him a little lustre there. Folks argue that Romney also brings the executive experience but theirs was a bitter rivalry and I've seen Romney speak - shoot, he's not even Huckabee!

I agree. And while her age could be a potential liability as I mentioned earleir, that liability could be overshadowed as her youth will help offset McCain's age.

Frankly, I struggle with trying to understand your reputation for being difficult to get along with. I find you reasonable and probaby agree with you 95% of the time.

Even IF that were true- though it isn't- how could all those really brilliant people be so wrong? Do you mean that ole' Saddam outsmarted every one of 'em? Or was it Chalibi and Curveball who outsmarted 'em- and were paid by the U.S. government for doing it?

Re: Who McCain should pick
So tell me Frank, what do you think of Palin as a potential VP choice?
I mean since the topic of the thread is McCain's choice and all.

I don't have any opinion about that at the moment. I have no reason just now to either support nor oppose that.

Perhaps if you knew a little more about her you might form an opinion. I figure this this is a good place to start.

Re: Who McCain should pick
Aaron,
I figure the odds of McCain selecting Palin must be slim and none. Do you remember a couple of weeks ago you and I were talking about how we thought Joe Biden was THE BEST pick Obama could make....BAM! he chose Biden.
I wasn't predicting he'd select Biden, just that Biden bring the most balance to Obama's ticket.
With Palin, not only do I think she's the best pick, she's who I would actually like to see be selected. I figure she must have zero chance. lol

Re: Who McCain should pick
National Review Online had Romney at 1800+ this afternoon and Palin second at 1400. I admit the polling was not scientific but I was pleased at how well she was doing. One of these days the SOB's are actually going to listen to us...

Re: Who McCain should pick
If McCain chooses Romney or Huckabee, I'm writing in Mickey Mouse.
Wait, the could be misconscrewed for an Obama vote (the ears) so I'll leave it blank.

Re: Who McCain should pick
I heard Obama on the radio saying that for decades Joe Biden has brought change to Washington, but it hasn't changed him. If Joe Biden has brought change to Washington for decades, shouldn't it be changed by now?

If McCain chooses Palin, it will make him much more likely to get my vote.
