Since Boosh caused Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to give huge bonuses to Rahm Emmanuel, Franklin Raines, and Jamie Gorelick, he should go to prison after his impeachment.

Well first off you need to determine if that constitutes a crime.

If President Bush recommended a bonus for a job well done I doubt that would qualify as a crime.

But your question and some of Stephanie's and Aaron's earlier posts do point out a republican attitude that I disagree with.

I don't believe law enforcement should be politicized and used against political opponents.

Just like the way they politicized the U.S. attorney appointments.

So I vote no.

Not even for President Bush and VP Cheney.

Not unless more comes out than I have seen so far.

Well I don't believe that people should get away with crimes just because they hold political office. Why should Barney Frank get a pass? Because he's a US Congressman? Because he's gay? Or is it because he's got a (D) after his name?

Clinton fired them in a mass changing of the guard, as per ususal when a new administration takes over.

No one in the Bush administration wants to talk about why Bush fired certain select U.S. Attorneys, some of whom apparently did not prosecute certain Democrats during certain recommended politically opportune times- much to the displeasure of certain bombastic Republican Congressmen.

We don't know if it's different or not. I don't know anyone who denies that Clinton fired them all for political reasons- so he could appoint his own partisan team of U.S. Attorneys.

But no one in the Bush administration wants to say why they fired those 39.

As they serve at the will and the pleasure of the President, it's my understand that he doesn't have to have a reason. He could fire them because they wouldn't investigate who he wanted them to, he didn't like the color of their hair or he had really bad gas one day and drew their names out of a hat and he certainly doesn't have to discuss it with anyone, including bombastic Republican and/or dimwitted Democratic Congressmen.

He believes ALL THE HARD WORKING COMPETENT EMPLOYEES working in the Department along side/with those crooks, thieves, incompetent, etc. should be fired also, at the same time, so no one will know who the crooks, thieves, incompetent, etc. were that was the cause of the firings.

No Frank you ARE wrong and misleading. Serving at 'the will and pleasure of the President' means that political positons are at the will and pleasure of the President and that he can hire and fire as he pleases.

It doesn't mean he can do what he damn well pleases. The fact that democrats are so terrified of making a decision and standing up for their core belief (for the few that actually have a core belief) lest it come back to bite them someday thus they cower in fear and allow the President to do as he damn well pleases doesn't change the meaning of serving at the will and pleasure of the President. It just means that the democrats GWB has had to deal with, from Gore to Pelosi and Reid, are a bunch of spineless wimps.
