If these guys pay back taxes without fines or penalties, why should it matter what they say under oath? They can always revise and edit what they said. After all, they are Democrats--and they won!

You watch, simply because he is black, he'll be held to a lower standard of behavior by the media than they would any conservative.

Yup. And it's especially true here in Chicago. Todd Stroger, the county chairman, fired nurses and gave friends and family 6 figure jobs, all the while having the nation's highest sales tax rate.

If he weren't black, and particularly if he weren't a Democrat, he'd be on every television station in America almost nightly.

Larry Craig propositoned a cop in a bathroom stall and it was all you heard about it in the media for two weeks (conservatively estimating it). Todd Stroger raises taxes to record levels and hires friends a la Tammany Hall and gets a pass.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama (Democrat) breaks the promise not to have lobbyists in his administration. We almost never hear about it. We always heard about Bush I's reversal on "no new taxes," and yet we hear hardly a whimper about Obama's blatant deception (or reversal, at best), of a promise that he kept. We never hear anymore about the whole public financing reversal, either.

There really are two standards in the media. I think it is much more a partisan thing than a black thing, although the two go together. Of course, if you point this out, you are called a racist and the other side claims victory.

In Chicago, we spend over 10K per student per year and any suggestion that the parents have to step up and take responsibility is ridiculed. Charges of "racism" merely allow failing students, failing aldermen, failing politicians, and corrupt systems to continue on ad infinitum, and Rolad Burris is merely a symptom of that process.

These people will continue electing these pit vipers until one of them, in person, comes into their homes and commits some horrible crime in their presence. Or becomes a Republican.

You know, it sort of occurred to me just now that the Dems are really good at taking positions for OTHER people to follow, as they themselves never seem to pay any attention.

For example, no wealthy liberal is ever without an armed bodyguard, yet they are always about gun control for poor people.

The Democrats are always being caught either evading taxes or paying them late, and yet they are always about raising taxes on you and me.

The liberal environmentalists are telling us to stop having children, although both Gore and Pelosi love the size of THEIR families. My cousin writes legal opinions for NARAL but would never dream of abortering HER child.

They want us to conserve more energy as THEY fly in private jets around the world and live in large houses.

They want to limit lobbyist activities, as far as I can tell so that their friends and spouses who are lobbyists can have a monopoly.

They want the fairness doctrine on talk radio but not on PBS or CNN, and surely not in the Washington Post.

I've spent the past few weeks in more then one motel Mike as I get relocated and guess which news station is pretty hard to find.

It's everywhere and what gets me is that when you bring it up, liberals act like you're making it up.

Given every opportunity to defend the fairness doctrine, not one of them as yet to step up to the plate.
