Mission Statement

The Mountaineer Jeffersonian is the independent newspaper of WVU and the authentic voice of the students. We aim to defend the ideas of personal freedom and responsibility, limited government, and the American patriotism as exemplified by our namesake. We will challenge the leftist dogma of biased administrators, support academic freedom and integrity, and attack incompetent and uncaring bureaucrats that abuse student rights. We will present conservative views that are currently suppressed, advocate aggressively for students against the campus administration, and cover the stories other publications are afraid to touch.
