Here's a suggestion for an apology from Van Jones for having called Republicans 'assholes' that's apppropriate under the circumstances: "I am sincerely sorry that Republicans are assholes."

Republicans are assholes. I don't want his apology. That's the only thing he said that makes any sense.

Van Jones didn't mean any of that stuff he spouted. He doesn't believe any of it. It gives him a certain cachet with various meal tickets on the left to spout that nonsense.

We have to protect our phoney baloney jobs here, gentlemen! We must do something about this immediately! Immediately! Immediately! Harrumph! Harrumph! Harrumph!

A couple observations regarding the Van Jones affair: Glenn Beck did a tremendous public service by highlighting Mr. Jones' past statements and history. But the last straw was probably dealt by bloggers:

MSM, specifically the New York Times and the Washington Post, were not involved in this story. I mention this only because newspapers in other major cities detail their employees to rented apartments in Washington, DC where they spend hours rephrasing news from the New York Times and the Washington Post without bothering to even check sources. Apparently, they don't even feel compelled to run an elementary Google search.

This is a news coup d'etat by Fox. Faux News indeed.

My guess is that they will be unchanged. Moderates elected him and have since disapproved--his loyal followers will follow him into the Great Leap Forward and the disasters it creates, no matter how high the unemployment or ridiculous his lackeys.

The veil is removed and Obama is a socialist--all the approval ratings will tell us now is what percentage of America is as well.

Wish I had said it this well:

As Hugo Chavez continues to shut down the media and silence critics, Oliver Stone—who would never be allowed, if he were a Venezuelan filmmaker, to direct as he does in the states—praises Chavez's coerced socialism.

Michael Moore, known for hard-nosed distribution and profit-making, announces, again like Stone in conjunction with hyping a profit-making movie, that capitalism (for others) is dead.

Van Jones, solidly middle class and Yale-educated, among other things, pontificated about revolution, an apartheid America, redistributing wealth, a—hole Republicans and George Bush's involvement in 9/11, in between jetting between conferences, espousing his green jobs promotion that hyped book sales and his own career.

What is strange about all this chic-radicalism is how would-be revolutionaries that wish to dismantle America as we know it and/or emulate failed systems abroad, always do so from comfort, security, affluence, and freedom of choice unique to America and Europe, suggesting that radical politics and those who agitate for them are sort of a fashion statement, aimed to resonate among particular elite leftist audiences and to bring dividends from them, but not to be taken too seriously as guides in their own lives. - Victor Davis Hanson

It wasn't his communist acknowledgement that did him in. Or the fact that he called Republicans assholes. By signing not one, but 4 petitions claiming Bush and Co was complicit in 9-11, this man flew past liberal and straight into someone to be considered dangerous and not worthty of a high government post.

Charles Krauthammer wrote a very good story on the entire matter.
