Re: The Iraq War
I was and am.
I saw it as a ruse since the day it was but a gleam in G.W. Bush's eye.

Re: The Iraq War
I'm agaisnt cutting and running like a yellow scared dog as much as I was against going in. There is far to much at state to let Muqtada al Sadr and his bunch win.

If you have to be that simple to understand my point, then my train of thought would be in that same state.

Re: The Iraq War
Are you calling me simple? Not sure I get that response.
However, it does sound like in '03 you were against the invasion of Iraq.

No, I did not support the invasion in 03. That is the reason I voted for Kerry in 04. I'm not for the continued occupation of Iraq either but I don't believe we can cut and run, or just March out. It is much more difficult then that but most don't understand that.
I've been told that since I'm against cutting and running then I HAVE to be for the continued occupation. I don't have the time or the energy to debate or explain it tonight and probalby won't this week.
Maybe next week if you're interested.

That's fine. Actually rational. I agree we're in a sticky situation now, but one needs to be careful that you don't go down the Viet Nam path.

John Kerry did. Al Gore did. Hillary tried to enlist in the Marines. What's your problem, Dan?

Re: The Iraq War
That is, we don't want to pull an LBJ/Nixon, where there is no way out so we escalate. Then we blow up the region and escape, the same way we would have years earlier without countless deaths.

I agree 100%. Part of that path is keeping your word and not deserting a friend.
