Torture doesn't work.
A lot of intelligence officers and thousands of other people claim that such information gathered this way has little value, because people being tortured will say anything to make it stop.
But, …. but, …. but, ….. the United States Supreme Court and thousands of Defense Lawyers agrees that DEFNITELY, torture works, to gain useful and truthful information.
So, GIMME A BREAK.
Because that was the primary reason for the Miranda Decision.
The Miranda warnings were mandated by the 1966 United States Supreme Court decision in the case of Miranda v. Arizona as a means of protecting a criminal suspect's Fifth Amendment right to avoid coercive self-incrimination.
