Just because I don't believe in the divinity of the Christ doesn't mean his birthday (and his message) are not worth celebrating.
I just want christians to realize they have shared ownership of the season with the rest of us.
There is more reason to the season than just Christ's birthday (observed).
I like your approach, Terry. Incidentally, we're doing biscuits and gravy in Nitro tomorrow, if'n you would like to tell us off in person:) Seriously, please consider joining us.
I don't think that most Christinas feel we have a monopoly on December. I see menorahs and stars andcrescents up in Chicago (not in Daley plaza this year, for whatever reason, or perhaps they are somewhere else) and I like seeing people of any religion freely expressing their faith. There are city banners wishing people a Happy Eid at the end of Ramadan and some wishing folks a happy diwali (the hindu festival of lights).
Now I never do get wished a happy ramadan (I don't suppose people wish that, anyway) or a happy diwali or eid, but I would certainly not be offended if someone were to.

"ramadan".."diwali".."eid" Sounds like the chorus from a 50's Doo Wop song.

Who put the ram in the ram-a-dan oh who put the ram in the ramadamadingdong?
Who was that man?
I'd like to shake his hand.........
(BTW, don't get pissed, TerryRC, it would be funny if you could do that with Easter or Christmas, but I don't think you can)

Hey TerryRC where in upstate New York are you from? My wife's family is Quebecois and many of them live near the thousand islands now. Absolutely beautiful country, but damned cold and unreachable in the winter.

About halfway between Syracuse and Oswego. I guess it would be more Central NY.
I consider anything north of White Plains to be "upstate", as opposed to the cesspool known as NYC.

You really think NYC to be a cesspool? I loved my visit there, but granted I didn't stay long.....

The sections of the 5 Burroughs that have been beaten down by government entitlement programs are most definitely cesspools. I don’t think anyone can argue that very simple fact.

Parts of the city are great to visit, but you couldn't pay me to live there.
