What I meant was that once Obamacare gets passed it will be next to impossible to repeal. What I cannot understand is how a 35% approval rating allows these hacks and sexual perverts to ram Obamacare down our throats despite our telling them "No". Obamacare is a done deal. All that remains is nailing down the details. That is why they are distracting you with the abortion question. It is to make you understand you are getting it whether you want it or not but if you act now you may be able to soften the blow by eliminating (for the very short term) the onerous insult of having publicly-financed abortion on demand.

Do you really think abortion is a smokescreen? I think Stupak and Nelson are heroes for what they are doing, and they are using the health care bill as leverage because they normally have none to use.

Obamacare may not be a done deal. Perhaps they will expand medicaid and medicare instead. It will mean greater spending and continue an already fiscally unsound trend of the present administration, but I think it is altogether possible that Obama will not get everything he wants, or even most of what he wants. Lieberman is likely a no, and Lincoln, who does not want to vote no (her moderate status is a joke) may be forced to if she wants to get re-elected. I will bet a side of biscuits and gravy that Obamacare will only pass if Olympia Snowe, George Voinovich, or Susan Collins votes for it. I don't think Dorgan or Conrad(ND) in particular wants to be "the" vote that made this unpopular bill pass, and if theirs is number 60, they will lose when next they come for reelection. If "enabled" by a Republican defection, however, the Dems will get their 60 votes and more.

The pressure, particularly on democrats, will be very difficult to resist especially when one considers the spineless and weak-willed nature of the species...

Empowering the unelected EPA to create enforceable Laws is no difference than our Legislature letting the unelected Health Departments create enforceable Laws.

I agree, and the first thing the Republican Congress of 2011 needs to do is take away all of the EPA's funding.
