"bigotry isn't bigotry!"

In the bright morning sun, Clinton strode first to the podium and then drew Byrd's mourners into the woods of West Virginia to talk about the scary white guys in big pointy hoods and long robes who burn crosses at family barbeques.

That's right -- while everyone else was tearfully avoiding Robert Byrd's association with a racist lynch mob, Clinton lauded the deceased Senator by way of mentioning his "brief" involvement with the Ku Klux Klan and actually found a way to portray Byrd's Klansmanship as an example of moral fiber.

According to Clinton, if a person is trying to get elected beating up innocent black people, that should not disqualify them from the job even if it includes joining a white supremacist group known to kill people based on the color of their skin, religion or sexual orientation.

America's original Man from Hope, speaking on behalf of the late Senator Byrd, said the following, "He once had a fleeting association with the Ku Klux Klan, what does that mean? I'll tell you what it means. He was a country boy from the hills and hollows from West Virginia. He was trying to get elected."

IF it wasn't wrong, Slick Willie, WHY did Byrd repent of and apologize for his involvement with the KKK? (Why wasn't Willie and his fellow democrats as magnanimous with Strom Thurmond?)

Why wasn't Willie and his fellow democrats as magnanimous with Strom Thurmond?

Kindness to Thurmond was not as politically expedient. Had it been, Clinton would have praised Thurmond.

IF it wasn't wrong, Slick Willie, WHY did Byrd repent of and apologize for his involvement with the KKK?

Because, in Byrd's mind, it only became "wrong" because the ever-changing relativism of political correctness said it was becoming wrong.

That's exactly right. And Clinton excused Byrd his transgressions because he spent his entire adult life "trying to get elected"...

And that dirty little secret would be?

The immutable connection between the sheerest, rawest forms of racism -- and the political necessity of using that racism to successfully sell and build Big Government. Race is the social concrete required for the resulting political edifice over which progressives love to endlessly preen, build, re-build, enlarge and preen again. And all of it -- the massive programs, the resulting bureaucrats, the mushrooming government unions -- the entire framework cannot be successfully erected unless racism, fear of "the other," is used as the pouring mixture. As Robert Byrd did with such early skillful success.
