if you have any delusional beliefs about CO2 caused Anthropogenic Global Warming.

To wit:

Higher Temperatures to Slow Asian Rice Production

Published in the online early edition the week of Aug. 9, 2010 in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the report analyzed six years of data from 227 irrigated rice farms in six major rice-growing countries in Asia, which produces more than 90 percent of the world's rice.

"We found that as the daily minimum temperature increases, or as nights get hotter, rice yields drop," said Jarrod Welch, lead author of the report and graduate student of economics at the University of California, San Diego.

"Up to a point, higher day-time temperatures can increase rice yield, but future yield losses caused by higher night-time temperatures will likely outweigh any such gains because temperatures are rising faster at night," said Welch. "And if day-time temperatures get too high, they too start to restrict rice yields, causing an additional loss in production."

Now just how in the world does atmospheric CO2 cause the AVERAGE night-time temperatures to be increasing faster than the AVERAGE day-time temperatures?

Of course the answer is: CO2 doesn't, and it can't.

The source responsible for all near-earth temperature changes is solar energy from the Sun and the "Sun doesn't shine at night-time" therefore it can't be heating up any "greenhouse gases" during the night-time.

"Heat Islands" (man-made infrastructure and other solar energy absorbing entities) can do that, ...... and they do. They absorb the solar energy during the day-time and slowly emit/dissipate that heat energy at night-time.

And if the AVERAGE night-time temperatures are increasing, ..... but the AVERAGE day-time temperatures are not increasing, ...... said increase will cause the Average Daily, Weekly, Monthly and/or Yearly Temperature calculations to show an increase in their Average even though the earth's temperature is not actually getting any hotter.

But the proponents of CO2 caused AGW, citing their calculated pseudo increase, are persistant in their claims that the increase in atmospheric CO2 quantities are the cause of increasing Global Warming.

An added note, if the night-time temperatures are remaining warmer than normal, this will facilitate a quicker "warm-up" of day-time temperatures, thus causing a slight increase in the calculated day-time average but will have no effect on the actual high temperature of that day.
