Lock up good guys, let bad guys roam free.

A New Jersey man whose seven-year prison sentence was commuted this week and is now seeking to get his felony gun charge conviction overturned blamed judicial "bullying" for his guilty verdict.

Aitken, an entrepreneur and media consultant with no prior criminal record, was arrested in January 2009 in New Jersey for possession of two locked and unloaded handguns he legally purchased in Colorado but didn't have a carry permit for in the Garden State.

He was later convicted and sentenced to seven years in prison in August. But after serving four months in a New Jersey prison, the cause célèbre for gun advocates was released after New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie commuted the sentence on Monday.

Ch. 8 TV reported there were already three (3) outstanding Arrest Warrants for this dude.

Police say they saw Ziegler trying to hide from them by laying down in the front seat. When police confronted Ziegler, he put the car in gear and drove into the side of one of the officers, dragging the officer for several feet, according to the news release.

Officers pursued Ziegler for several miles and used spike strips to stop the car near the intersection of Hal Greer Boulevard and Charleston Avenue. Ziegler then allegedly tried to flee on foot. When police caught him, they found about 85 grams of marijuana and a plastic bag with several chunks of crack cocaine, according to the news release.
