I'm sure these same people suggest that mixing religion and politics is a bad idea. What they mean, of course, is that it's bad when others do it. When they do it, it's just fine.

They forget that Jesus said "render unto Ceasar's..." and that charity and tax dollars are not the same thing.

Mixing of politics and religion is a political fact of life in America today- and probably always has been.

Zuckerman writes:

Jesus exhorted humans to be loving, peaceful, and non-violent.

The above is little more than heresay evidence claimed by those who never ever heard Jesus speak ........

and thus the reason no one really ........ "practices what they re-preach".

You miss the point Ziggy but then I'm not suprised. Jesus Christ said render unto Ceasar what is Ceasar. He favored private contributions to take care of meek and poor not increased taxes. This is nothing more then the left trying to define the right and using the poor to do it when the goal is the same, control. Some, including me, believe that it's much more cowardly to use the poor as a road to gain that control then corporate greed or military strength, especially when you guys are treating the poor worse then the right ever has.

If what Jesus tells us to do as individuals translates into what we do as a nation, then we need to literally take away people's coats, against their will and give them to others. Do you advocate this?
