In passing the unconstitutional McCain-Feingold law, reformers cited the "undue" influence of rich and powerful people — i.e. successful people — on political campaigns.

Among the law's provisions was a measure that barred independent campaigns from criticizing incumbent congressmen within 60 days of an election.

This muzzled Americans from speaking out against their government. What the heck?

King George III protected free speech better.
