I don't believe Florida and Ohio are union states and in fact, lean to the right. That can make a difference. That and the fact that you have to court not only union but labor as well. Gore didn't do it in WV in 2000 and it cost him the Presidency. Had he won WV, TN or ARK, he would have been President but he took labor for granted in all 3 states and as a result he's a GW theorist now. But hey, he does have a peace pipe.
