Re: Words I am sick of:
Words I'm sick of.
"Gay" when used to describe homosexuals. "Gay" is a happy beautiful word meaning "joyous" or "happy". You can't use the word for its true meaning anymore.
"Obama" I fail to see why the media keeps beating around the bush. Why don't they kiss his ass on TV and get it over with?
"Change we can believe in" A politican do anything positive, I don't think so. The only thing any politican can do is mess up and anvil with a feather.
The phrase "The N-word" Do we use the "C-word" for Cracker? Nooooo
"Tolerance" It is funny how this word has a one way meaning. It is tolerance when I tolerate your behavior and harrassment or offensive if you are expected to tolerate mine.
"Government accountibility" The best example of two words that can never ever ever, not even clinically be used together.
"Living document" This two word phrase is the most dangerous phrase on earth. It means that the supreme legal document, the standard we measure all other law by is fluid, thus, has no meaning. This little two word phrase removes the absoluteness of the standard. We are no longer a nation of law, but a nation of men, governed by their whims, bias, and prejustices. Funny how Al Gore declared the constitution living and Dick Chaney Seconded the motion.

He deserves, at the very least, a nomination.

Bale deserves the nomination. He played the multi-faceted Bruce Wayne to a "T".
Ledger was good but the role didn't require as much depth of character.

Re: Words I am sick of:
See, I wasn't as impressed with Bale's portrayal. He plays the 'batman' character adequately (for lack of a better word) but to me, he didn't do a very good job on the Wayne part of the character. Historically, I thought both Val Kilmer and George Cloony (I was actually surprised here) both did a better job then Bale does, but that's just me.
If anything, I thought Ledger's Joker character should have been given more screen time and the movie delved more into his character. For instance, he told 2 different stories of how he received his scars. I think had they delved more into the psychosis of the Joker it would have made the movie better considering how well Ledger portrayed the character. That and saving the complete transformation of Two Face for the next version.

Re: Words I am sick of:
I loathe going to the movies. My teenagers went to see it opening night and were very impressed with Ledger. I specifically asked because I figured all the Ledger/Oscar hype would drive our friend Keli bonkers! lol
