I cant wait to hear the republican bush apologists trying to justify this.
This should be good.

Re: Bush legacy
Record deficits?
I'm not about to justify them (nor will I justify my own credit card debt).
However, it's necessary to realize that one is not a complete victim in either situation. The power to appropriate funds remains with the Democratically controlled Congress via Article One of the US Constitution.
It's a failure of both parties and 2 out of 3 branches of government (and I'm sure the third would, if they could find a way, contribute to the problem as well, if even it's conceded that they are not already).

Re: Bush legacy
As long as the Democrats remain in total control of spending Appropriations, ……. Sherman will be blaming Bush and the Republicans for any Deficits, etc.
He has been doing the same on matters involving West Virginia ever since he was old enough to mimic his elders.

Re: Bush legacy
I'm certainly not apologizing for GWB Sherm because as those on the right have pointed out, he's been anything but conservative. The problem is, you mistake (purposefully imo) criticism of the left as automatic support for GWB and that's just not the case. As you can't attack the principals of the right though, you are left (pun intended) with attacking GWB and claim faux support of him by all that disagree with you.
You are correct in that GWB is the setting President that oversaw the largest deficit in the history of the United States in that he signed the spending bills into law. He is also responsible for the huge Medicare prescription plan that he signed into law that doesn’t allow negotiations and is, in the spirit of all government programs in general and Medicare specifically, a huge waste of taxpayer money that is rampant with fraud, waste and corruption and has added significantly to this deficit.
But if I’m not mistaken, wasn’t it congressional democrats that campaigned 2 years ago on ending the Iraq war and bringing troops home? And also, again if I’m not mistaken, hasn’t the democratic led Congress approved about 500 billion in additional spending on the war that they promised to end? And aren’t those numbers somewhere equal to the amount of the projected deficit?
I would submit that just as GWB is responsible for his non-conservative spending, including one of the largest entitlement spending programs every signed into law, democrats are equally responsible not so much that they are in charge of Congress (after all, Republicans held Congress for the first 6 years of B’s term) but more so in that they basically lied during the last campaigned and then sold out you and your fellow democratic voters for $2.00/hour and 13 weeks of additional unemployment.
Granted, you will read this and the only thing you will take from it is that I’m supporting GWB and blaming democrats because that’s how your partisan brain works but the bottom line is, both parties are at fault for the deficit we face. That is a plain and simple fact.
