Perhaps instead of tossing insults around, why don't you actually tell me why my reasoning is so wrong?
Re: Betchya can't do it, Sam.
Perhaps if you could pull your head out of your ass and address me by my name I might do that William.

You know, we still don't know what to call you. "bmd" isn't a name, or a nickname. It's awkward and you should either tell us your name or pick a suitable nickname. Or Aaron will continue to call you some variation of William and eventually others may join him.

I answered the question and Stephanies right as Frank, Terry H, Jeremeny, and others can attest to.
Now if you would prefer another proper name, then tell me what it is and that is how I will address you by that name instead of William William.

Folks have often used "handles" rather than real names on the Net since way back when Usenet was the only game in "town". The basic netiquette "rules" (a.k.a. RFC1855; which were set up by early email and Usenet users) state, in part:
"If a user is using a nickname alias or pseudonym, respect that
user's desire for anonymity. Even if you and that person are
close friends, it is more courteous to use his nickname. Do
not use that person's real name online without permission."
You can call be bmd, bio, biomechdude, or any derivative or those. To call me anything else is not only contrary to the rules of netiquette, which have been in use for almost three decades now, but is also rather childish. I suppose that you could say that I have been equally childish in my responses to Aaron/Clyde. However, I have just been responding in kind. When Clyde acts like an adult, I will also.
P.S.
There is also a psychological term for behavior such as Clyde's, that escapes me at the moment. But it has to do with renaming ones rivals/opponents as a way of asserting dominance.

Ya' know how you can show them? Don't buy tobacco products and none of your money will go to the tobacco fund to be misused. You'll also live a bit longer, and enjoy your health a bit more. People might even enjoy being around you a bit more (anything is possible, Sam). That'll show them.
And I suppose you would like it if the government tried to keep you from drinking more than two beers and eating cheeseburgers. After all, you'll live longer. Shall the government cut you off after two beers (after which time any health benefits turn to damage?) Shall the government tell you that you cannot eat cheeseburgers and instead rely on nut meats and tofu?
Why is it you want the government dictating your private life unless it means killing an unborn child? Really, now, bmd, do you really want government coercion of behavior?

From the beginning, I've attempted to be courteous. You don't want me to refer to you as William, fine I will no longer do so. But I expect you to use my name, not a derivative of or any other name. And per you're request based on basic netiquette "rules", I will address you accordingly.
Big Mouth Dick, your request for comment also states that posters should not do anything to be overly offensive to other posters, as the pictures you have in your signature line clearly are to others on our forum.
By your standards of common courtesy and netiquette, you need to lose the pictures.
Today.
Big Mouth Dick.

Sure you have.
Aaron wrote:...your request for comment also states that posters should not do anything to be overly offensive to other posters, as the pictures you have in your signature line clearly are to others on our forum.
The first two images merely allude to the absurdity of superstitions. Invisible Pink Unicorns and The Flying Spaghetti Monster (or teapots in orbit) are just as real as any deity. Would an image of Buddha be just as offensive? What about a picture of Kokopelli, Hopi god of fertility?
The third image just puts together two "facts" (that Jesus was a man, and that humans and chimpanzees share at least 96% genetic identity) and concludes that all humans, JC included, are/were 96% chimp. It could just as reasonably assert that chimps are 96% Jesus, or bmd, or Aaron. With which fact so you have trouble, that Jesus was human, or that the genera Homo and Pan share 96+% genetic identity? To deny the former would be very unchristian. To deny the latter would be naive, unless you have some expertise in molecular genetics you have been keeping to yourself.
Christians mock other religions all the time, just ask our resident preacher. But, when someone points out the absurdity, and hypocrisy, of christians on such topics they cry foul. I NEVER called anyone a "Big Mouth Dick", said that they would burn in hell, or anything of the sort. In fact, my mockings (is that a word) have been pretty tame by the "standards" (such as they are) of this board. Perhaps the reactions of some around here just indicate that I have been a bit more effective with my rather mild taunts than have others with their truly offensive postings. Could this be because there is just a bit more truth to what I have said?

Yeah, along with re-assigned meaning to one's posts so as to refute a "strawman"- a faux proposition that was never out forth- because one is unable to refute what actually is put forth. It's his trademark- obfuscation for the purpose of further obfuscation.

So you can't follow the rules you yourself referred to. You can spout all the tripe you want, your pictures are offensive to others on the board and not everyone you've offended has mocked others religion.
Lose the pictures you hypocrite.
And I used a derivative of your name as you requested. Is there a problem with that Big Mouth Dick?

Yup, that's Clyde, "Mr. Courteous".
Tell me, Clyde, why didn't you bother addressing the rest of my post of 0814 PST, instead of just calling me names?

I prefer names as it is more personal for me. I will respect one's wishes if they so choose. There is one person who's name I have not used out of respect for him Sherman, so I'm not all bad.
As for Mr. Dick, when he first started posting, I swore he was WVHillbilly. I'm still not convinced he isn't as he has the same arrorgant head up his ass attitude Billy had on the old forums. Don't you see the semblance?

There ya' go, spreading all that courteousness all over the forum. Are you sure that you're not really another nom de plume of Judith Martin?

Why should religion be the ONLY subject immune to ridicule?

Regardless, that doesn't excuse BMD's actions or his picture. I myself find it tasteless, the actions of an arrogant ass who posted it for no other reason then to offend. I'm not suprised.

Re: Betchya can't do it, Sam.
Why do you call someone an "arrogant ass" other than as an offer of offense?
And you've been doing that since long before BMD signed onto this forum.
If non-offense is good for BMD, why isn't it just as good for Aaron- and for the rest of us, for that matter?

Re: Betchya can't do it, Sam.
I think there's a difference of me posting my opinion of BMD, or you for that matter and of him posting a picture that is clearly offensive and is posted for that very reason.
Can you not see the difference?

Well, ya' convinced me. Clyde is not your name, and I never should have assumed that it was. My apologies.
Your "courteous" posts, such as the one quoted above, remind me of the style of Judith Martin. So I will call you Judy.
You can't convince me otherwise, Judy. Your "courteous" style gives you away. Sorry for the Clyde thing. No hard feelings?

Re: Betchya can't do it, Sam.
How is BMD's offensive picture any worse than your offensive words? If it's just about your opinion or someone else's opinion, then it isn't any more offensive than your words, in my opinion.
