Could WV have inside track?

Well it appears wv could be in the catbird seat come next spring.
It appears the Obama team will hit the ground running in an effort to re-start the economy.
And much of the plan centers around infra-structure upgrades and expansion.
The projects will require a state match and will be rewarded as quickly as possible, making it difficult for states running a deficit to come up with the needed match in time.
Which is good for WV, since we are one of the few states on sound financial footing.
And we have many projects ready to go so it could be boomtime for the wild and wonderful.

Rightttttt, sodburster...we are really fortunate to be 49th or 50th in every negative indicator--except we are balancing a starvation budget. Don't worry--be happy! When Obamessiah hits the road running, "Zippity-doo-dah" everything's going to go our way!" (Sod, how many prozacs do you take a day?)

If one bridge to nowhere was a bad thing, why are many bridges to nowhere a good thing?

As many as the Democrats can get credit for providing jobs to West Virginia's union men & women.

Controversy? Yes, we raise hell when a new business comes in just like the rest of the state.

To heck with progress. I got to make sure nobody is making more money than I am.

Re: Could WV have inside track?
Well dont infrastructure projects lead to progress?
You guys seem to be opposed to wv getting money to fund infrastructure, roads, bridges, education, hi-speed internet access, etc. as referred to in the original post.

Re: Could WV have inside track?
I favor limited government. I would much prefer to have the federal government out of the education business entirely. That money they send always comes with far too many strings.
Likewise with the high speed internet. They're talking about providing it free to every American, but no porn. I'm no fan of Hugh Hefner or Larry Flint, but I am a huge fan of liberty. If Sherm wants to sit up half the night watching Debbie do Dallas that isn't anybody's business but his. Furthermore, first it's no porn then what be something else until there is no freedom left on the internet. Not to mention my grave concerns that a government paid for internet means a government controlled internet which means bye-bye to any iota of privacy.
I would much prefer to see the federal government reigned in to the point where it's actually operating within the framework of our Constitution.
