The Kennedy family is seeking revenge against New York Gov. David Paterson for his treatment of Caroline Kennedy during her aborted bid for the senate seat vacated by Hillary Clinton, the New York Post reported "The governor's going to pay for this," a prominent Democrat told the New York Post. "Ted is furious. The family is furious. The Kennedys are now against the governor."
Paterson had better watch his step! (Also, if he rides with Ted Kennedy anywhere, he (Paterson) had better drive!)

Chronological age? Thirty? Emotionally and mentally, it is evidently much lower than that. (However, I suppose that there would be some poetic justice in Obama mentoring Chelsea...)

The age for the House of Representatives is 25 so Chelsa could be appointed to succeed Gillibrand.
I did here on one of the talking head shows yesterday that there is speculation the Clinton's stopped the appointment of Caroline as payback for the early Kennedy endorsement of Obama AND for now allowing Hillary to have a prominent seat in the health care reform debate.

Does it come down to which faction has more power, the Kennedy's of the past or the current governor?
I'm not from the area but the simple fact that Caroline, the last remaining direct tie to Camelot, was denied the Senate seat she so coveted has to mean something.

But back to the point I think I remember that House of Rep candidates do not have to reside in the district they represent.
Just the state.
That would allow Chelsea to get the appt.

Well Steph maybe you assume I was but I am not a Palin basher.
However I do believe she chased away a lot of the moderate, middle of the road voters.

For every moderate voter she chased away, she brought in more conservative voters. Had McCain not had a conservative VP candidate, he would have lost bigger then he did as conservative voter turnout would have been down more then it already was.

No, my point is that Congress is supposed to serve the American people. It wasn't created to settle political scores and those seats shouldn't be handed out to the children of politicians simply because those kids were made fun of because they aren't good looking, or because they aren't great role models for their generation.
You said you would like to see Chelsea Clinton get appointed to some seat in Congress. You've stated openly speculated about the possibility of her replacing Senator Byrd when his aides can no longer drag him around Capitol Hill because it just isn't possible, whether that's due to his death or just continued phsycial deterioration. Now you're telling us it's because people have made fun of her? For the most part what they poked fun of is her looks. I remember the things they said about Amy Carter. Would you like to see her get a seat in the US Senate too? She's old enough and if memory serves they were far more cruel to her.
Now Sarah Palin's daughter has been crucified in the media. I think a lot of it is just plain, simple jealousy. Both Laura and Barbara Bush are beautiful young women. Sarah Palin's children are probably even better looking. I suppose it's a matter of personal taste but Chelsea Clinton,on the other hand,could have posed for the cover shot of that Janice Ian song. What is the name of it?

Well Steph I certainly would be pleased to see Amy Carter jump in as well.
If The Right would have paid attention to her father we would not be dependent on foreign oil today.
And there would probably be peaceful coexistence in the Middle East.

I think you mean "If Washington's career politician's had paid attention" and not "if the right had d paid attention", don't you Sodbuster.
After all, considering Democrats controlled Congress with Bob Byrd the Senate Majority leader (61 Senators from 77 to 78, down to 58 from 79 to 81) and Tip O'Neil the SOH (292 and 277) for all of Carter's years, Democrats shoulder as much, if not more of the blame for the failure to enact energy legislation then the right does.
Given the makeup of Congress, don't you agree?
