University of Calif. OKs 32 percent tuition hike
The 32 percent increase will push the cost of an undergraduate education at California's premier public schools to over $10,000 a year by next fall, about triple the cost of a decade ago. The fees, the equivalent of tuition, do not include the cost of housing, board and books.

If one extropolates the costs according to:
WVU Tuition & Fees $5,304 ----- plus housing, board and books = $15,792

Then it will cost college students in California somewhere between $20,000 and $30,000 per year to attend a State run college.

Now you're talking Ivy League money. But then from a state that pays taxes with IOU's and has almost a million non-teachers on their public school payroll, what more would anyone expect.

This is an aspect of American liberalism that nobody ever realizes. The poor and working class get hit the hardest and suffer the most. Unfortunately they are not educated sufficiently to know that this is happening to them, so they end supporting the very people responsible for their ruin.
Consider Medicaid, which is about to be destroyed. Medicaid is viable only because people pay into the health care system through private insurance and, to a lesser extent, self-payment. For all of teh care being given to Medicaid and Medicare recipients, the cost of health care is that much higher to those who are not in those systems. When that group decreases or vanishes, the health care of those presently on Medicare and Medicaid is going to decline quickly.
Meanwhile in California, liberal policies have bankrupted the state. It is overregulated and overtaxed, and guess who (among others) gets to bear the brunt of the state's economic failures? "Starving" college students.
Detroit is typically the nation's most liberal city, followed by Berkeley, California.
How those cities and their states are doing speaks for itself.
