I heard that the Charleston Gazette moved to Michigan. (It was just time for a change.)

Did you guys see the game last night? Awesome!

I think Rich Rodriguez is better off in Michigan.

As for the Gazette, a pox be upon all of their livestock. I reckon the fault lies with Keli, or the French, or perhaps the military-industrial complex.

Well Mke, salary wise ...... I'm sure he is.

But Mike, some of these native West Virginians really bedazzle me.

The ones who support "big raises" for Teachers in particular.

GEEZE, they wholeheartedly support any Teacher who quits their job in WV and goes to another State to "make more money".

But "DUH", ...... Rodriguez was a Teacher ........ and everyone got all frumpy and pissyfaced when he quit his job and moved to Michigan "for more money".

Why do they act like that, Mike? Very Happy Very Happy

He's making about 200K more then he did at WVU. He'll likely have to pay the 4Millin buyout for leaving which works out to him working for free for 3 years after taxes.

Not a very smart move in my book, but that's just me.

Plus, now he'll probably never get a job as a spokesperson for the WV Coal Association's "Friends of Coal", like those other two guys.

Billy Stewart was introduced as head coach at WVU today. He's a down home folksy feller, a real West Virginian whose "handshake is his agent". As such he has to know how important coal is to this state and will make a fine spokesman should he choose to pursue that route. Very Happy

I misspoke. I think it is better that Rodriguez be in Michigan than in West Virginia, but not for his sake, but for Coach Stewart and the players of whom Rich was not worthy.

One thing's for sure, ole Billy Stewart coached himself right into a pretty good position. If WVU were to go undefeated and win the National championship next year, which by the way is not only possible, but very likely, he'll earn nearly 2 million bucks and be a folk hero for years to come.

And I agree Sheik...Michigan can have Rod...2 peas in a pod if you ask me. Laughing

I watched the game, which during the game one of the anouncers stated that Mr. Stewart's job interview seemed to be going quite well. I had to chuckle. I have never been so proud of a group of people as I am of the WVU football team. What they accomplished took guts and heart and they have both. I was really happy to see WVU appoint Bill Stewart to the position of head coach. Win, loose, or draw he earned the position over the last month. It doesn't take a big money person to coach a winning team. It takes someone that earns the respect and admiration of those he leads. Bill Stewart has done just that.

DUH, and just how did a Coach create a "winning football team" in only 30 days?

If one has to "call in" a Substitute Teacher for the last 30 days of a School year ...... I seriously doubt said Sub would get "the credit" if all the students earned a final Grade of "A" in that Class.

Of course, I know very little about Sports .......... so I guess anything is possible. Its "religion based", ya know. Very Happy

Uh huh, ........ but,

With 5:00 left in the second quarter, star Mountaineer quarterback Pat White left the game with a dislocated thumb.

I think Billy Stewart is a great guy and did a great job of getting ready the team RR recruited for one ball game.

I don't know if that qualifies him to lead the West Virginia football team into the future. I think a rush decision was made based on emotion and I hope it's not regretted when this current crop of players is gone as it was in Maimi with Larry Coker.

I liken it to being dumped by the head cheerleader after years of dating, going out with the nice girl a couple of times and then asking her to marry you simply because she can suck a golf ball through a garden hose. affraid
