Re: How to solve a problem like Palin?
I live here and I know what occurs. Most people I know are moderate. Your source Stephanie is from 2004. This is 2009 and only 29% of MA voters identify as liberal. You can believe or disbelieve it, but I know it is so. If credibility is based on statements like 'This is what the Constitution means because I say so' then that is pretty questionable credibility. Or narrowmindness and cognitive disabilities are the same thing.......this is ground control to.... Or the most 'credible' thing I have read in my short time here is AMERICAN FIGHTER JETS SHOT DOWN FLIGHT 93. Now there is a statement whose voracity and truthfulness as sheer fact we can attest to. I guess 'credibility' is in the 'eye of the beholder'.

These numbers found in the link below are from 2008. Slightly more than 3 times as many Bay State residents are registered Democrat as are affiliated Republican. I think the numbers, the elected officials, and issues like gay marriage and socialized medicine make my stance far more compelling than your assertion that most people you know are moderate is.
Andrea, you think YOU are moderate. You're not. You are a liberal and I don't understand exactly why that shames you. You are what you are. I'm a conservative, white, apathist American woman. I'm proud of all those things. I also know liberal when I see it. Like the majority of Bay State residents, you are far left of center. I'm sure you think liberalism is moderate. I'm convinced my conservatism is of the moderate variety.
For all of you interested in seeing with your own eyes what the MA SOS's office reports on Bay State residents party affiliation, please click the link below.

You can believe that I am 'liberal' if you choose. I will continue to classify myself as a moderate. Or is it that those who are really far to the right think everyone else is liberal?

Re: How to solve a problem like Palin?
Well, AC, on this forum you are on the left, but you are certainly to the right, at least socially, of Ziggy and TerryRC, who I should like to see jump in and spar with you, as well.
This is a conservative forum, to be sure, but I should like to see more voices of diversity such as yourselves. As much as anything, I long to see meaningful debate on college campuses, where unfortunately most every statement my students make is prefaced by "don't get mad, this is only my opinion" to which I always respond: "this isn't Russia, say whatever you want."
Wrong though you usually are:)

I don't think she's right of TerryRC. She's right of our dear friend, Ziggy, but I think she may be left of Terry.
I miss Sherm.
I miss Sherm.
Re: How to solve a problem like Palin?
btw......everytime I see this thread I hear, "How do you solve a problem like Maria? How do you catch the wind and pin it down?"
Re: How to solve a problem like Palin?
I also miss Sherm for many reasons. Rest in peace, dear friend....

Might I ask who is Sherm? You both seem sad about Sherm.

Re: How to solve a problem like Palin?
You may.
Sherm aka sodbuster, was a liberal poster around these parts who you just had to love. Ziggy was a buddy of his in "real reality."
Speaking of Zig, I haven't seen hide nor hair of him recently.

Re: How to solve a problem like Palin?
Ziggy is very liberal, and a dear friend. I think he finds it difficult "being" here since Sherm passed. I hope that in time that will improve.
Re: How to solve a problem like Palin?
I hope so also. It must be hard. I think anyone with a name like Ziggy would be cool to 'meet'.
