I rarely mention the fact. I only mentioned it originally because I was ASKED.

Almost all of my college courses were in the natural sciences, although I did get a minor in psychology, in case I had to fall back on teaching.

I didn't get much in the way of "elitist socialist" training.

Sammy used to do the same thing to Keith Skeptic, yet I notice that he doesn't go after the Sheik, whom I would guess is also college educated.

Typical.

I am a damn good entomologist and am excellent at my job of trying to help protect our agricultural industry.

The fact that you guys mock me for my education is starting to seem like the story of the fox and the grapes.

Anyway, you guys won't stop with your personal attacks, so I'd better get used to it.

You're an arrogant asswipe and if you perceive someone is attacking you because you went to college it's because you think you're better then everyone BECAUSE you went to college.

If you go back to my first post you'll see I never signaled you out, I said people LIKE you but in your arrogance or ignorance, I'm not sure which, you got your G-string in a wad and made it personal, became an ass and thought you could push me around because you think you're smarter then me. The role of college education is another matter. I think that precious little in the social sciences in academia can be called "education." I speak as someone in the field.

I know a woman with a PhD in Political Science, who has been published, who did not know what the Bull Moose Party was (only the most successful minor party in Presidential elections in the past 100 years, a splinter from the Republicans).

Many students can give biased "definitions" for "identity group," "politics," and what-not, but when I take them through all 7 articles and all 27 amendments, you'd think I was giving root canals.

Yet you attack me with phrases like "narcissistic egghead". Sam calls out my "socialist education" all of the time.

Yet neither of you can actually provide any evidence to back those statements up.

Not that personal attacks are valid arguments, but you could at least try and make them accurate.

Perhaps personal attacks are not related to how people treat Rush Limbaugh? "Going personal" seems to be a common thread throughout US history. I seem to recall political advertising against Andrew Jackson involving accusations of fathering mulatto children and killing innocents.

Terry's correct, he isn't the person who brings up his education.

Rush Limbaugh is an ass with a platform. His comments about Haiti were reprehensible. He brings the personal attacks upon himself, imho.

Perhaps it's the mom in me, but I'm still wishing you'd all "play nice." Mostly I think it's just that over the years I've come to think of you all as my friends. I hope you think of me, and one another, in the same manner.

I think the way I do of you because that's what I've got from your collective post over the past 4 years, from the old Gazette Forum's to post on this thread. You make statements and act as if you know more then everybody else until you're questioned to the point that you have no response and it is at that point that you become indignant no matter how relevant the questioning is, turn it around and start demanding that other prove what they're saying.

You're nothing if not predictable which is why I really don't care if you respect me or not.

You only know about mine because someone asked. About your education, I guess that you are in school right now. I'd guess you are getting a two year degree due to the fact that you are taking marketing (the reference to a marketing text I saw on your FB wall when I friended you). Before this, I'd say you had some technical training, perhaps truck school and a high school diploma, GED or regular. You are still fairly well-read, with some slight background in the classics. This is all speculation but how am I doing?

Anyway, how do you detect a superior tone from text when half of the time you can't even detect sarcasm?

How was I superior in my above post. I made a simple point - I don't attack you based on your personal life. You, however, do not reciprocate.

Anyway. I'm going to try and ignore these tactics anymore. Someone has to be bigger and these debates are getting bogged down.

No. You have not, Aaron. Not once.

The phrase "Da, da da or lack thereof..." is a common phrase in the English language. Using it is not evidence of an air of superiority.

I'm curious TerryRushbaugh, have you ever met a stance in which you weren't the expert opinion where someone other then you knew more?

The reason I ask is because lately in many of my day to day activities I am involved with government workers and academia and it seems odd that unlike my years in the real world where I met very few who had to tell everyone they knew everything and had no problems answering simple question, you guys seem to have a penchant for never being wrong, you share a unique ability of orating your infinite knowledge and you cannot stand to be questioned or proven wrong.

And when you are, the universal response is to deny the question of validity of the statement proving you wrong, you characterize anything said as a personal attack and then demand proof of anything stated.

So my question is, do they teach this in the upper levels of academia or is this part of your orientation when you go to work for any non-productive industry such as state government?

As for your statement that I haven't proven anything, we'll have to agree to disagree and let the jury decide TRCBaugh. I'm comfortable with that.

And the only women I beat, I do on the 1st Sunday of the month with a switch on the steps of the Cabel County Courthouse as it is legal to do so but I have to be honest. I was questioned once and had to use my brothers Salt Rock address as they don't like Putnam County residents coming down there to beat there women.

Twasn't a person attack TerryBaugh as that little thingy at the end of the words I wrote is called a QUESTION MARK.

Use a question mark [ ? ] at the end of a direct question. It is considered bad form to use a question mark in combination with other marks, although that is often done in informal prose in an attempt to convey complex tones: He told you what!? That combination (or similar combination) of punctuation marks is sometimes called an interrobang, but the interrobang currently has no role in academic prose.*

A tag question is a device used to turn a statement into a question. It nearly always consists of a pronoun, a helping verb, and sometimes the word not. Although it begins as a statement, the tag question prevails when it comes to the end-mark: use a question mark. Notice that when the statement is positive, the tag question is expressed in the negative; when the statement is negative, the tag question is positive. Put a question mark at the end of a sentence that is, in fact, a direct question. (Sometimes writers will simply forget.) Rhetorical questions (asked when an answer is not really expected), by the way, are questions and deserve to end with a question mark:

How else should we end them, after all?
What if I said to you, "You've got a real problem here"? (Notice that the question mark here comes after the quotation mark and there is no period at the end of the statement.)
Sometimes a question will actually end with a series of brief questions. When that happens, especially when the brief questions are more or less follow-up questions to the main question, each of the little questions can begin with a lowercase letter and end with a question mark.

Who is responsible for executing the plan? the coach? the coaching staff? the players?
If a question mark is part of an italicized or underlined title, make sure that the question mark is also italicized:

(Do not add a period after such a sentence that ends with the title's question mark. The question mark will also suffice to end the sentence.) If the question mark is not part of a sentence-ending title, don't italicize the question mark:

When a question constitutes a polite request, it is usually not followed by a question mark. This becomes more true as the request becomes longer and more complex:

Would everyone in the room who hasn't received an ID card please move to the front of the line.
