Re: Reports of Rush's death were slightly exaggerated
BTW, I am sick you you all attacking me because I went to college.
I rarely mention the fact. I only mentioned it originally because I was ASKED.
Almost all of my college courses were in the natural sciences, although I did get a minor in psychology, in case I had to fall back on teaching.
I didn't get much in the way of "elitist socialist" training.
Sammy used to do the same thing to Keith Skeptic, yet I notice that he doesn't go after the Sheik, whom I would guess is also college educated.
Typical.
I am a damn good entomologist and am excellent at my job of trying to help protect our agricultural industry.
The fact that you guys mock me for my education is starting to seem like the story of the fox and the grapes.
Anyway, you guys won't stop with your personal attacks, so I'd better get used to it.
With the disrespect I see for education, I'd say that we had better be prepared to become a nation of janitors.
Perhaps China or India will become the next leader in science and technology.

Re: Reports of Rush's death were slightly exaggerated
106 Etta Street Big Boy, right behind the Gino's in Poca. Third house on the right, white with green shutters. It's about a 10 minute drive on most days from where you live, maybe half an hour, 45 minutes on a day like today. I'm easy to find. I'm sure someone as smart as you can find it. If you're man enough, come on down, knock on my door and say those words to my face.
As for attacking you, I didn't. I made a statement that I don't have to prove to you but I did. And all of my responses to you were in the manner you posted to me. You're an arrogant asswipe and if you perceive someone is attacking you because you went to college it's because you think you're better then everyone BECAUSE you went to college.
If you go back to my first post you'll see I never signaled you out, I said people LIKE you but in your arrogance or ignorance, I'm not sure which, you got your G-string in a wad and made it personal, became an ass and thought you could push me around because you think you're smarter then me. Thing is Big Boy, I don't push so easy and I'll respond in kind.
I got no problem with your education Terry. In fact, I respect that. I also respect all that you've taught yourself and I've told you so. I've also told you the only thing I don't respect is this arrogant side of you, the part that says FU to someone on a forum becasue you got your feelings hurt.
It's easy to do to Sammy, who's in Burnsville, 2 hours away and who you know ain't going to do anything. But I'm not Sammy and I'm not 2 plus hours away. So if you think you're all that, cowboy up, come on down and we'll see. Otherwise, I'll take your apology now. The choice is yours.

Re: Reports of Rush's death were slightly exaggerated
The role of college education is another matter. I think that precious little in the social sciences in academia can be called "education." I speak as someone in the field.
I know a woman with a PhD in Political Science, who has been published, who did not know what the Bull Moose Party was (only the most successful minor party in Presidential elections in the past 100 years, a splinter from the Republicans).
Many students can give biased "definitions" for "identity group," "politics," and what-not, but when I take them through all 7 articles and all 27 amendments, you'd think I was giving root canals.

Cite me one place where I have lorded my education over you, Aaron. Just one. I defy you.
Yet you attack me with phrases like "narcissistic egghead". Sam calls out my "socialist education" all of the time.
Yet neither of you can actually provide any evidence to back those statements up.
Not that personal attacks are valid arguments, but you could at least try and make them accurate.
So, you incredibly arrogant ass, where have I implied "...[I'm] better then everyone BECAUSE went to college..."?
Just one example will do.
[i]I've also told you the only thing I don't respect is this arrogant side of you, the part that says FU to someone on a forum becasue you got your feelings hurt.

I've gone past caring about your respect. I only want the respect of those worthy of having it, themselves.

Re: Reports of Rush's death were slightly exaggerated
Perhaps personal attacks are not related to how people treat Rush Limbaugh? "Going personal" seems to be a common thread throughout US history. I seem to recall political advertising against Andrew Jackson involving accusations of fathering mulatto children and killing innocents.

Terry's correct, he isn't the person who brings up his education.
Rush Limbaugh is an ass with a platform. His comments about Haiti were reprehensible. He brings the personal attacks upon himself, imho.
Perhaps it's the mom in me, but I'm still wishing you'd all "play nice." Mostly I think it's just that over the years I've come to think of you all as my friends. I hope you think of me, and one another, in the same manner.

Quite the contrary, TerryRC. Just because something is usual does not make it right. Exodus 23 says "do not follow the crowd to do wrong."

You can't lord your education over me Terry because it doesn't impress me. You went to school, and as such, obtained some knowledge. So what? So did the guy down at Eddies who works on my car.
I think the way I do of you because that's what I've got from your collective post over the past 4 years, from the old Gazette Forum's to post on this thread. You make statements and act as if you know more then everybody else until you're questioned to the point that you have no response and it is at that point that you become indignant no matter how relevant the questioning is, turn it around and start demanding that other prove what they're saying.
You're nothing if not predictable which is why I really don't care if you respect me or not.
Cheers.

I don't need to produce any quotes. I explained why I believe the way I do and I don't need you to accept that. And as I said earlier, you can't lord anything over me as I find you about as impressive as I do el-Rush-baugh. IMHO, you're both excessive bloviators.

And you make slander that you can't back up. You say I "lord" my education over you but can't provide a single instance from the board archives to back that statement up.
You use about as many facts in your observations as Rush. Welcome to the ranks of the "excessive bloviators".

And you're wrong when you claim I've said you lord you education over me. I stated that you think your education makes you better then others and I'm just letting you know that you're full of shit and that it doesn't. If that's slander, sue me.

You only know about mine because someone asked. About your education, I guess that you are in school right now. I'd guess you are getting a two year degree due to the fact that you are taking marketing (the reference to a marketing text I saw on your FB wall when I friended you). Before this, I'd say you had some technical training, perhaps truck school and a high school diploma, GED or regular. You are still fairly well-read, with some slight background in the classics. This is all speculation but how am I doing?
Anyway, how do you detect a superior tone from text when half of the time you can't even detect sarcasm?
How was I superior in my above post. I made a simple point - I don't attack you based on your personal life. You, however, do not reciprocate.
Anyway. I'm going to try and ignore these tactics anymore. Someone has to be bigger and these debates are getting bogged down.
Rush sells hate. In no way am I like him.

I think your wife left you because you beat her.

Very fair.

I've backed it up Terry and the way I see it, your continued crying on the topic solidifies what I've said. Additionally, I've pointed out on more then a few threads where you've taken an air of superiority including one in which I agreed with what you were saying.
It's not my fault that you don't have the ability to see your own faults but then that is a trait of a narcissist.
nar·cis·sism (när'sĭ-sĭz'əm)
n. 1.Excessive love or admiration of oneself. See Synonyms at conceit.
2.A psychological condition characterized by self-preoccupation, lack of empathy, and unconscious deficits in self-esteem.
3.Erotic pleasure derived from contemplation or admiration of one's own body or self, especially as a fixation on or a regression to an infantile stage of development.
4.The attribute of the human psyche charactized by admiration of oneself but within normal limits.
You really should work on that Terry.

No. You have not, Aaron. Not once.
The phrase "Da, da da or lack thereof..." is a common phrase in the English language. Using it is not evidence of an air of superiority.
2.A psychological condition characterized by self-preoccupation, lack of empathy, and unconscious deficits in self-esteem.
Wow. You can use an online dictionary. Where have I evidenced any of those things? I display more empathy in my posts than you do.
So. Beat any women lately?

Re: Reports of Rush's death were slightly exaggerated
I'm curious TerryRushbaugh, have you ever met a stance in which you weren't the expert opinion where someone other then you knew more?
The reason I ask is because lately in many of my day to day activities I am involved with government workers and academia and it seems odd that unlike my years in the real world where I met very few who had to tell everyone they knew everything and had no problems answering simple question, you guys seem to have a penchant for never being wrong, you share a unique ability of orating your infinite knowledge and you cannot stand to be questioned or proven wrong.
And when you are, the universal response is to deny the question of validity of the statement proving you wrong, you characterize anything said as a personal attack and then demand proof of anything stated.
So my question is, do they teach this in the upper levels of academia or is this part of your orientation when you go to work for any non-productive industry such as state government?
As for your statement that I haven't proven anything, we'll have to agree to disagree and let the jury decide TRCBaugh. I'm comfortable with that.
And the only women I beat, I do on the 1st Sunday of the month with a switch on the steps of the Cabel County Courthouse as it is legal to do so but I have to be honest. I was questioned once and had to use my brothers Salt Rock address as they don't like Putnam County residents coming down there to beat there women.
Any other questions.

Re: Reports of Rush's death were slightly exaggerated
Twasn't a person attack TerryBaugh as that little thingy at the end of the words I wrote is called a QUESTION MARK.
But then I'm not suprised that you failed to address the questions. After all, I predicted exactly what you would do.
To which you responded...
Could I have been any more right? At any rate, the questions from my previous post remain Terrybaugh. Do you think you can try addressing them or are you going to continue to try and 'duck and cover'?
Use a question mark [ ? ] at the end of a direct question. It is considered bad form to use a question mark in combination with other marks, although that is often done in informal prose in an attempt to convey complex tones: He told you what!? That combination (or similar combination) of punctuation marks is sometimes called an interrobang, but the interrobang currently has no role in academic prose.*
A tag question is a device used to turn a statement into a question. It nearly always consists of a pronoun, a helping verb, and sometimes the word not. Although it begins as a statement, the tag question prevails when it comes to the end-mark: use a question mark. Notice that when the statement is positive, the tag question is expressed in the negative; when the statement is negative, the tag question is positive. (There are a few exceptions to this, frequently expressing an element of surprise or sarcasm: "So you've made your first million, have you?" "Oh, that's your plan, is it?") The following are more typical tag questions:
He should quit smoking, shouldn't he?
He shouldn't have quit his diet, should he?
They're not doing very well, are they?
He finished on time, didn't he?
She does a beautiful job, doesn't she?
Harold may come along, mightn't he?
There were too many people on the dock, weren't there?
(Be careful of this last one; it's not "weren't they?")
Be careful not to put a question mark at the end of an indirect question.
The instructor asked the students what they were doing.
I asked my sister if she had a date.
I wonder if Cheney will run for vice president again.
I wonder whether Cheney will run again.
Be careful to distinguish between an indirect question (above), and a question that is embedded within a statement which we do want to end with a question mark.
We can get to Boston quicker, can't we, if we take the interstate?
His question was, can we end this statement with a question mark?
She ended her remarks with a resounding why not?
I wonder: will Cheney run for office again?
Put a question mark at the end of a sentence that is, in fact, a direct question. (Sometimes writers will simply forget.) Rhetorical questions (asked when an answer is not really expected), by the way, are questions and deserve to end with a question mark:
How else should we end them, after all?
What if I said to you, "You've got a real problem here"? (Notice that the question mark here comes after the quotation mark and there is no period at the end of the statement.)
Sometimes a question will actually end with a series of brief questions. When that happens, especially when the brief questions are more or less follow-up questions to the main question, each of the little questions can begin with a lowercase letter and end with a question mark.
Who is responsible for executing the plan? the coach? the coaching staff? the players?
If a question mark is part of an italicized or underlined title, make sure that the question mark is also italicized:
My favorite book is Where Did He Go?
(Do not add a period after such a sentence that ends with the title's question mark. The question mark will also suffice to end the sentence.) If the question mark is not part of a sentence-ending title, don't italicize the question mark:
Did he sing the French national anthem, la Marseillaise?
When a question ends with an abbreviation, end the abbreviation with a period and then add the question mark.
Didn't he use to live in Washington, D.C.?
When a question constitutes a polite request, it is usually not followed by a question mark. This becomes more true as the request becomes longer and more complex:
Would everyone in the room who hasn't received an ID card please move to the front of the line.
But then I'm not suprised that you failed to address the questions. After all, I predicted exactly what you would do.
