Let's speak about shame

DIANE SAWYER, HOST: Every now and then someone seems to express the nation's frustration with the endless wrangling and delay in Congress. And we thought you might like to hear New York Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner.

He wanted a vote last night on a $7.4 billion bill, aid for the sick police and firemen who have -- helped race to Ground Zero to rescue people.

REP. ANTHONY WIENER, D-N.Y.: He is wrong! The gentleman is wrong! The gentleman is providing cover for his colleagues rather than doing the right thing. It's Republicans wrapping their arms around Republicans rather than doing the right thing on behalf of the heroes. It is a shame. A shame!

HANNITY: You go against the GOP. That's what the nation is frustrated about.

BOZELL: Let's speak about shame for a second. Shame on Diane Sawyer. I have never seen such shilling in my life. She knows full well what's going on. She knows full well that that hypocrite Weiner has every vote he needs to pass that bill. The Democrats completely control the House. They could have pass that just like that.

What they wanted was the Republicans on board because they knew it was a bad bill. It's another one of those unfunded mandates, entitlement programs. And they know they're going to have to pay the price for it. That's why they went to Republicans, and the Republicans correctly are saying no to that. That's what's going on. They could have passed this any time they wanted to.
