Get em' early and one can make nice little government worshipping socialists with very little effort at all.

The really sad part is, what is laughingly referred to as "parents" are more than willing to go right along with this. I guess that how it works when you have a generation of jerks that lack any values to instill in their kids and frankly just don't give a damn about things like responsibility.

Cato,

Quite true. Right now my hope is that the kids born today will look at their parents' generation and values, be rightly appalled, and rebel in the right direction. The clock of social decay CAN be turned back.

"The aim of public education is not to spread enlightenment at all; it is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed and train a standardized citizenry, to down dissent and originality. That is its aim in the United States, whatever the pretensions of politicians, pedagogues, and other such mountebanks, and that is its aim everywhere else....Their purpose, in brief, is to make docile and patriotic citizens, to pile up majorities, and to make John Doe and Richard Doe as nearly alike, in their everyday reactions and ways of thinking, as possible." - -- H. L. Mencken - (1880-1956) American Journalist, Editor, Essayist, Linguist, Lexicographer, and Critic

And it has worked quite well, hasn't it. Especially, in the past 30 years.
