Democrats plotted to blame the tea party patriots for yesterday’s slaugher in Arizona.

One veteran Democratic operative, who blames overheated rhetoric for the shooting, said President Barack Obama should carefully but forcefully do what his predecessor did.

“They need to deftly pin this on the tea partiers,” said the Democrat. “Just like the Clinton White House deftly pinned the Oklahoma City bombing on the militia and anti-government people.”

Another Democratic strategist said the similarity is that Tucson and Oklahoma City both “take place in a climate of bitter and virulent rhetoric against the government and Democrats.”

This Democrat said that the time had come to insist that Republicans stand up when, for example, a figure such as Fox News commentator Glenn Beck says something incendiary.

The shooter was a pro-Marxist, anti-flag, anti-Constitution, anti-religious crackpot grammarian. He was hardly a tea partier.

Same as the first, former and current classmates have reported his distaste and dislike for religion and the role it played in society.

When I read it, my first thought was of you.

I also read one blog that stated he felt the Obama administration didn't go far enough with their policies and there was speculation that he blamed both Obama and the Congresswoman for caving to the demands of the religious right.

I think this was the actions of a deranged lunatic but if you or anyone insist on blaming political ideologies, I'm afraid you're going to have to blame the far left, not the far right.

My daughter got a call from her former roommate in Vienna (WV) asking her if she'd heard that a Congresswoman had been shot by a tea party activist. My daughter is (wait for it) a conservative. I believe it. The left is anxious to condemn the tea party for violent reactions. It is a fact.

The Congresswoman's father blamed the TEA Party in an interview with the New York times despite the facts that do support that viewpoint.

I suspect the temptation to blame whatever bogeyman is in fashion at a given time cannot be ignored.

The shooter's favorite books were Mein Kampf and Das Kapital. Obviously, socialists, like Roseanne Barr and Janeane Garofalo, are to blame for this tragedy--not capitalist conservatives.
