CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Kanawha Circuit Judge Charles King's pension again is the subject of controversy

The judge's pension was the topic of heated debate when he decided to retire in the fall of 2008 even though he was running unopposed for re-election in the November general election.

He began receiving his pension, won re-election and retook the bench in January 2009.

Since then he has drawn a full judge's salary of $116,000 a year in addition to the pension, estimated then at more than $80,000 a year.
