So what, .... it was only property tax money.
The state Public Employees Insurance Agency was providing health coverage for more than 11,000 ineligible dependents, at a cost of about $22.3 million a year, the final results of a yearlong eligibility audit show.
The audit of the more than 70,000 public employees insured by PEIA, conducted by the Public Consulting Group and released Thursday, found that 9,632 of the 126,087 dependents enrolled in PEIA were ineligible for coverage.
