ps: I figured out a long time ago that those persons that are the most criticizing of the verbiage uttered by a public speaker ........ are the same ones that "couldn't say suey, suey, iffen the hogs were eating them up" ...... if they had to get up in front of a crowd and speak.

You should try speaking in front of people Sam. It's not that hard but then I've only spoke to small crowds. The most was about 4,000 but on average, I spoke in front of only a couple of hundred.

Oh, my O me O, me thinks I have tried it a few times ..... but it is still not one of my favorite thingys to be doing.

But I am not a sports fanatic and consequently do not strive for a front-row seat at sporting events where it is easy to stand up and voice one’s opinion in front of a large crowd.

The majority of my public speaking, like 400+- times, was also to small audiences, like between 25 to 30 students.

And the above doesn't include my 4 years as President of the B'ville Lions Club or my 2 year tenure as Town Recorder or my 4 year tenure as President of the Tuesday Night "Go-Mart" Bowling League.

And mercy me, I don't have a clue how many times I addressed small to large groups of employees during my career in industry.

Lots of people dearly luv to get up in front of an audience and talk, whether they know what the hell they are talking about or not, ...... and that's because they know they are "the most important person there" ..... for as long as the audience sits there and listens to them.

Miss Bachman vs the media, whoever wins determines who the Republican nominee will be. Right now the media are making sure that everyone knows who Michele Bachman is. That is dangerous for her opponents. Early on here, all press is good press.

You taught for a year ...
Not so, silly boy, I only taught full-time for a little over 3 months.

Iffen it had been a year then I would have claimed 900+ times instead of 400+.

A full year = 180 days @ 5 classes per day (not including Home Room) = 900 times of addressing a small crowd.

And 9 weeks of Directive Teaching + 3 months of full time Teaching = 400+ times of addressing a small crowd.

..... and cut tail and ran Sammy
Envy and jealously makes you say the damnest things, ...... don't they, Aaron.

My cutting tail and running fast to a much higher paying, more rewarding job ..... sure as hell makes more sense than ...... you sitting around on your arse arguing about sports which resulted in you getting your tail cut off and not having another job to go running to.

That was just my opinion though ......... which I am sure you will disagree with because of your nurtured mindset on Work Ethics.

GEEEEZE Aaron, maybe I shuda spent the most of my "awake" lifetime being a spectator sports fanatic and riding around on motorcycles then I could have been a really successful person like you.

Right on, Michael, a billion dollars worth of "free publicity" will do more good than harm to/for Bachmann.

Badmouthing a relatively "unknown" Candidate entises a large segment of the populace to ask themselves "who is she and why are they badmothing her"?

Badmouthing works much better on defeating well known Candidates.

You know, at one time, I held you in high regard and had a great deal of respect for you Sam. And then when you chased everyone else off and tried your act on me, I realized the truth and saw you for what you are, a loud mouth bully and . Thing is, you can't bully me and that really frustrates the hell out of you.

So no, I don't think I am far more intelligent then you are. I'd say we're in the same league in that we both possess above average intelligence. And I realize there are many things you know a great deal more about then I do.

That doesn't mean that I think you're more intelligent then me, just that you've learned some things that I have not for any number of reasons. That's a two way street. There are many things that I have learned about things you know nothing about and it just so happens that the things I choose to discuss fall into that catagory. The difference between you and I is that while you are so arrogant as to think you know everything about everthing, I don't.

You're problem is that when you and I converse, you repeatedly prove just how little you actually know and then you get your panties in a wad and start whinning and make things worse by posting bullshit rants like those in this thread.

Anything else?.

You know, at one time, I held you in high regard and had a great deal of respect for you Sam.

YUP, and that high regard and respect lasted as long as you had “easy pickings” for blowing your “smoke” at. But when all those “easy pickins” vacated the Forum you turned your "smoke blowing" attention toward me.

Nothing pisses a “smoke blower” off like someone who publicly turns a fan on them to disperse their “smoke”.

And then when you chased everyone else off and tried your act on me, I realized the truth and …..
HA, it isn’t now and never was me who has been “blowing the smoke” that chased the other posters off. I just tell everyone “where the bear shits in the buckwheat” and if they don’t like being publicly embarrassed by being told that and decide to leave then so be it. Their only alternative is to convince Stephanie to throw me off her Forum and then they can “blow their smoke” to the fairthewell without worry of being embarrassed

Aaron, bout the only truth that you have realized …… but have absolutely, positively refused to address or correct ……. is that iffen you don’t want me to be “turning the fan on you” ……….. then don’t be “blowing smoke” in my direction.

Apparentl you think that iffen you ramp-up your "smoke blowing" that I will turn the fan off.

HA, fat chance of that happening. Razz

Why are we still in Afghanistan Sam? That's just one of the many questions I've posed to you that you simply cannot answer and it's stuff like that that eats you alive. You're a blowhard and a bully and EVERYONE knows it and it pisses you off to no end that you can't bully me. The only thing that pisses you off more is that more often then not, I'm right and you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

Fan my ass.

Still not buying it, huh Stephanie.

A few weeks ago, the race for the Republican presidential nomination was a jumble of candidates, none of whom seemed to be winning the party's hearts or minds: Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Newt Gingrich. For a moment, some GOP voters even pinned their hopes on pizza magnate Herman Cain, mostly because he didn't sound — or look — like the others.

But now, if you talk with Republican political professionals, the GOP race has suddenly settled into a contest among only two or three potential nominees.

There's Michele Bachmann, the "tea party" insurgent, who jumped into the first tier with a crisp performance at the June 13 debate in New Hampshire.

And waiting in the wings, there's Rick Perry, the governor of Texas, who is considering a run for the White House.

All the other possibilities have been eclipsed, the GOP pros say. Pawlenty, the former governor of Minnesota who was once seen as a strong candidate, has lost ground by appearing uncertain about his own economic policies and how tough he wanted to be in his critique of Romney. Jon Huntsman, the former governor of Utah, is trying to win the nomination as a moderate and is openly courting non-Republican independents, a strategy the pros think is doomed. Gingrich couldn't even get his campaign staff to follow him. Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska, has convinced political strategists (and many voters) that she's not serious about running.

Two polls this week tell most of the story. In Iowa, where the campaign's first real test will come in a party caucus scheduled for February, the Des Moines Register poll found Romney and Bachmann in a virtual tie — at 23% and 22%, respectively — even before Bachmann formally launched her campaign in the state. In New Hampshire, where the nation's first primary is held, Romney holds an apparently stable lead with the support of 36% of Republicans, but a Suffolk University/7News Poll found Bachmann suddenly surging into second place with 11%; no other candidate reached double digits. (Perry's name wasn't included in either poll.)

Absolutely not buying it, Aaron. Did you see the youtube video I posted of Bachmann making statements like:

"If our founders thought taxation without representation was bad, I wonder what they'd think of representation with taxation. I don't know what's gonna happen?"

"Michael Steele, you be da' man! You be da' man!"

"Within a day or so the President of the United States will be taking a trip over to India that is expected to cost the taxpayers $200 million a day. He's taking 2,000 people with him......"

and my personal favorite, while speaking in New Hampshire:

"You're the state that the shot was heard round the world. You've got Lexington and Concord. You set a marker in the ground."

Why are we still in Afghanistan Sam? That's just one of the many questions I've posed to you that you simply cannot answer

Oh for geeezus jumpin kerist, .... Aaron, ..... give it up, ...... you are stuck on stupid and can't get off.

Just because someone doesn't reply with the EXACT, WORD FOR WORD ANSWER ....... that you want to hear or read ...... doesn't mean .... "they simply cannot answer" your question.

Hells bells, I can think up 50 possible reasons "why we are still in Afghanistan" ...... but you would give shit less what any of them were ....... unless one of them WAS EXACTLY what you wanted to hear.

Aaron, you actions when doing said are EXACTLY LIKE those of an irate, beligerant, pissed-off female who is determined to get her spouse or lover to admit to whatever it was that she accused him of ...... and she ain't gonna shut her f'ing mouth until he does.

You got big problems, boy, and you need to go sit in a dark closet for a few hours and try to figure out what they are so that you can take corrective actions.

I guess you didn't open the source Steph.

But don't underestimate her. She's hardcore, but she's no flake. She's smart, tough and hardworking. And, unlike Palin, she learns from her mistakes.

I don't think she'll win the nomination but she will be a major factor and will be the last person to bow out and might just warrant herself a VP nod.

Steph, all of those pale compared to Obama's "57 states" comment.

And Steph, what was your problem with this statement?

"If our founders thought taxation without representation was bad, I wonder what they'd think of representation with(out) taxation. I don't know what's gonna happen?"

As for myself, I've been thinking for probably more than 30 years that that was a damn good question to be asking.

She won't win the nomination. She will be a factor in that she will take much of the fundamental Christian vote, particularly from other so-called "tea party" candidates. I seriously doubt she will be selected as a runningmate, but if she stops saying the kind of stuff that is fodder for Leno, Letterman and SNL it may be possible.

done plumb forgot about your "One-Track Mind" limitation.

Too late now to be worring about it because such people are just like Blue Ribbon winning Fox Hounds. Once they get "on track" its damn near impossible to get um off of it. And they just keep runnin n' runnin "on track" until they get their ass hopelessly lost in the woods ...... and there ain't much one can do about it.

I don't know what possesses me to forget that?

Must be the nicotine or the caffeine.
