Strange Times
The New York Times today features a headline that reads:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/02/us/politics/02dems.html?_r=1&pagewanted=all&oref=slogin
They're talking about Howard Dean. Yeah, that Howard Dean.

Re: Strange Times
Even today, that's still one of the funniest damn things I've ever seen. How that dumba$$ (Ted Boettner worked on his campagn btw) rose to even be considered a national contender for President is beyond me.

I thought that "I'm the decider" and "Bring 'em on" was a hell of a lot funnier than that.Even today, that's still one of the funniest damn things I've ever seen.
Dean was just a dumbassed Democrat who wasn't expected to know any better.
But Bush is a well bred, blue blood Republican, and a Harvard graduate to boot. That makes "I'm the decider", and the challenge re: insurgents, to "Bring 'em on" in Iraq just that much funnier.

Re: Strange Times
Sure, Zig, the President has said some pretty incredible things. My favorite gaff of his is on a bumper sticker that my mom has, which says something to the effect of "our enemies never stop planning ways to do harm to the American people, and neither do we."
I think the point is that the NY Times would never refer to Bush as "low key," and that they refer to Howard Dean in that manner just shows how out of touch they are.

Bush followed in his father's footsteps and went to Yale.
Geeze dude, if your going to try to make someone as pathetic as Howard Dean look better by degrading the President, at least get your facts straight.

Ziggy,
If you guys are so smart, why didn't the Father of the Internet or the Boston Brahmin (Did you know that he was a Vietnam veteran--and proud of it?) beat retardo-man? IF the Dems are so smart, how did they ever get themselves in the Obama/Omama debacle?

You take any opportunity you can to berate and badmouth Bush, ..... right Zigster.
Why were you calling for "sensible discussions" ..... when you can't even make a sensible post, to wit:
Howard Brush Dean III, MD (born November 17, 1948) is an American politician and physician from the U.S. state of Vermont, and currently the useless chairman of the Democratic National Committee, the central organization of the Democratic Party at the national level. Before entering politics, Dean received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1978.

Here Aaron, Laugh some more:
President George W. Bush is the very first President to hold a Masters Degree in Business Administration. Even better (or worse, depending on your perspective), his MBA is from Harvard Business School, ....................

The command-and-control approach was still in vogue for CEOs when Bush studied at the Harvard Business School in the mid-1970s, and there is little doubt that as the first MBA president, he reflects his training.

Eighty percent or so of new businesses go defunct within a year or two.
I operated successfully for 23 years, and then sold out for enough money to make Ms. Ziggy happy. Does it get any better than that?

You stated he went to Harvard University. He didn't. He went to Yale. AFTER graduating from Yale, he went to Harvard Business school. It's not the same thing.
Try again dude.

OK.
I herein amend my post to say that:
But Bush is a well bred, blue blood Republican, and both a Yale University and Harvard Business School graduate to boot. That makes "I'm the decider", "Mission Accomplished", and the challenge, re: insurgents, to "Bring 'em on" in Iraq just that much funnier.

I doubt Bush would refer to himself as well bred. In fact, one of the things I like best about OUR President is that he doesn't try to be anything he's not.
Unlike your boy Dean is a complete nimcompoop but you refuse to admit that. As I said, your partisan tripe knows no limits. Pa-freaking-thetic.

George W. So you think that he actually was chosen by God to be OUR President?
Unlike your boy Dean is a complete nimcompoop but you refuse to admit that.
Why would I refuse to admit that? Dean and the whole gang at the DNC are a whole bunch of "complete nimcompoops"- and that's being kindly to them. I would add that they probably couldn't conduct a parade of more than two bicycles without tying up traffic 20 blocks away- such is their incompetence. I have no political love for them.
You really don't pay much attention at all to what I say here, do you? Otherwise you would know what contempt I hold for both state and federal level Democrats- as a political institution.

But you did say:

What was he trying to be when he told Texas evangelist James Robinson and others that God wanted him (Bush) to be OUR President? So, since you think that Bush doesn't try to be anyhing he's not, apparently you think that he actually IS God's choice for OUR President.

You said that he does not try to be something he's not. So what what was Bush trying to be when he said that God wanted him to be OUR President?
