Will Obama surprise the world and score a win in WV?
Final Predictions
Well I thought all the Obama backers might like a chance to predict a surprise victory for him.
So here is your chance.

Re: Final Predictions
I say Clinton by 20 points. WVA is still one of those places where you can still criticize someone going to a church led by a black supremacist.

Re: Final Predictions
20 percent sounds like a huge number but look at this:
Pollster Dates N/Pop Clinton Obama Undecided
Suffolk 5/10-11/08 600 LV 60 24 8
ARG 5/7-8/08 600 LV 66 23 6
Rasmussen 5/4/08 840 LV 56 27 17
TSG/Orion Strategies5/3/08 300 LV 63 23 -
Rasmussen 3/13/08 702 LV 55 27 18
ARG 3/29-4/2/07 600 LV 37 22 13

Where do you reckon they found all those likely voters? A Mingo County graveyard?
I'm sorry this looks so bad. The point I was trying to make was that TSG/Orion has the race at a clean 40% as of a week ago...

Re: Final Predictions
I took my very liberal son (where did I go wrong) to listen to Obama today and even he conceded that Hillary will win big.
I'd say in the 25% range.
I'd say in the 25% range.

Re: Final Predictions
He's very young. When may still grow up to be a conservative! LOL
I have 2 kids backing Paul and one backing Obama, so I feel your pain. My 18 y/o is very young so I still have hope! LOL
BTW Sherm, I'd be surprised if Hillary wins by less than 25%.

Re: Final Predictions
He was an impressive speaker but, for the most part, the crowd was somewhat miffed. His speech was about veterans and taking care of them after their service in Iraq.
He made it a point to state that we as Americans should treat them as WW2 vets were treated, not as Vietnam vets were. He did a very good job in pointing out that service and answering the call does not make those serving responsible for the unpopular war, that responsibility fell to leaders and thus returning soldiers should be treated with respect and dignity those in the 40's were treated, not as those in the 60's and 70's were.
The vast majority wanted him to talk about how fast he was going to come out of Iraq but he didn't do that. He also didn't speak much on the social issues or energy either.
What I saw was a response speech for a candidate that has been hit up for non-military service and for being considered soft in regards to the military. As I told the boys that went with me, that speech will make a great deal of sense in September and October.
I would say he's gotten where he is today by being a step or two ahead of the game. It was very interesting.
