Do you believe that Hillary won WV (a closed primary) is proof that the people of WV are racist? If so, you're only dealing with Democratic voters.
I don't know that any one primary election in any one state is "proof" of anything.
But if it fits a pattern, then it might be significant. But then other people could point to other "patterns" that it fits. And so, in isolation, it is not "proof" of anything- other than that the prognosticators of a Hillary win in WV were vindicated.

Re: Why West Virginia Matters
My mother has Wednesdays off so we always speak on Wednesdays. She said to me, "Aren't you near Eleanor? Did you go see Hillary?" LOL My own mother.
I told her the truth. I wouldn't cross the street to see her.

Same here. One afternoon last week Ms. Ziggy told me that Bill Clinton was to be at the local fire station that evening. That's almost two miles from here. I just couldn't work up the gumption to make the trip.

Re: Why West Virginia Matters
Well Hell, Jimmy! If they had flagpoles in Jackson County we might have gone seen Bill! We stayed home because we figured we'd have to travel too far with his underpants once we stole them.
Re: Why West Virginia Matters
I went to see Cheney and Bush and would have gone to see Kerry but was out of town the day he was here. I passed his bus coming in on my way out of town.
I was pleased to see Ron Paul, Romney, and Hucklebee speak in Charleston.
THere's something about looking in their eyes and listening to them talk extemporaneously. I suppose I flatter myself but I think I know more about them that way.

I didn't realize he was that close. I would have like to hear him speak because 1) He's one of 43 men to lead this great nation 2) I've heard he's a wonderful speaker and 3) He's a great multi tasker.
Who else has lead the free work, making important decisions WHILE getting their loly pop licked?

That was a little before your time, Stephanie. I ought to leave it alone but was a kid brother myself, once.

I was impressed with Obama and could actually see myself voting for him while he was speaking about veterans and foreign policy. Then he started speaking of social issues and reminded me he is a big government socialist that will worse for this country financially, unless Congress reigned him in, then GWB has been.
And I understand what you mean by knowing them somewhat. For instance, I got the impression that he would be bigger then he really is. If he's 6 ft, its a very generous basketball 6 ft and he can't weight a buck forty wet. But he took command of the stage and the crowd (granted I was probably one of the few that wasn't head over hills but still) from the onset and worked them pretty good.
If for some reason he's not elected this go around, I can see him making another run in 2012, so long as he don't get someone that will stab in the back like Kerry did.

Re: Why West Virginia Matters
OK Chanting...I've got a little story to share. This is funny, at least I think so.
The first Saturday of this month Ed or Kyle or somebody organized a Ron Paul sign waving in the late afternoon. Well my son had a Whizbang! Workshop that day. I wasn't about to go all the way home with him so I just took him to the sign wave. I figured we'd stay a little while.
So there's my kid standing on this corner with me. I'm holding a big sign and I've got him holding one of the yard sign size. Needless to say he gets a little bored after a few minutes so he starts yelling at the cars. "Vote Ron Paul not Hillary! Hillary is bad!" lol
I didn't want him to do that, you know? It was funny but I figured he'd anger some of the liberals driving past. So I taught him a little Ron Paul mantra. "Ron Paul Revolution, give us back the Constitution!" He began yelling that so loud that even with the traffic, the guys on the other end of that connector could hear him over all the traffic.
He's something else, that kid of mine.
