Aren't you the self professed expert Frank!!! Answer it.
I said in the beginning- 2 or 3 weeks or so ago here, that the WV election code does not appear to answer Sherm's question. But if you can show us that it in fact does, I will recant, repent, and sin no more.
Why would I want to show you it does or doesn't considering I honestly don't care. I merely pointed out something funny Sam said and you got pissy. Since then, all I've done is point out when your mistaken.
Ziggy got "pissy"?
Not hardly.
Ziggy has too much fun here to get pissy. If that happened, it wouldn't be fun anymore.

Stephanie wrote:I'm pretty sure Ziggy is correct, that it's 2% now. I've got friends in the CP trying to obtain ballot access for Butch Paugh. Did you know that the leader of the WVGOP has been arrested TWICE for exercising his Constitutionally guaranteed rights while collecting signatures on public property?
That happens a lot, Stephanie. Public officials hate petitioners for independent candidates and new party petition campaigns. Several of our petitioners were arrested for "trespassing" on public property back in 1999 and 2000.
Usually petitioners just move on when told that they can be arrested if they stay and talk to people about their petition. But a few stand their ground- and usually the "security" people who are threatening to arrest them back off. But now and then some are arrested for "trespassing". But as far as I know all who have been arrested enventually beat the charge- or more often the charge is just dropped by some Judge or Magistrate who decides that the arresting security or police officer just didn't enough really imporant stuff to do that day.

Because I do not accept your premise that GWB "has been nothing but progressive in Iraq". Several hundred thousand dead Iraqis probably wouldn't accept it either- if they were still able to speak their minds.
Then, once again , you would be wrong. From your defination.–adjective 1. favoring or advocating progress, change, improvement, or reform, as opposed to wishing to maintain things as they are, esp. in political matters: a progressive mayor.
So then, if that's the controlling definition, then as you advocate for change that suits your fancy, you are a progressive too. So are you a communist, a socialist, or both?
Neither. I'm anti and happy to be so. Remember!!!

GWB & American forces have made tremendous progress in spreading terrorism throughout Iraq, creating refugees, and killing and maiming innocent civilians. That's not the kind of progress I'm proud of. How about you?
Re: Election Laws revisited
Now explain why the leader of the WVGOP is out collecting signatures.
I corrected that in my post and your initial response. Dr. McKinney might just have my head! lol
Jeff Becker, the Chair of WV Constitution Pary has been arrested twice. I spoke to him at length about his first arrest. That was in or around Morgantown. The other arrest (must have happened fairly recently) happened in a WV State Park. I'd be happy to forward you his email addy if you'd like the details from the victim himself.
I can't recall who, but some group is paying Jeff's legal fees for the park incident. Last time I spoke to Jeff, Butch Paugh was funding his representation for the Morgantown area incident.
The first incident, Jeff was charged with a bunch of foolishness, including resisting arrest and disturbing the peace. I met with him and discussed this back a few months ago. He had the permit, the town clerk knew he would be there.
I think the charges will likely be thrown out too. However, no citizen should have to endure this sort of harrassment simply for exercising their civil liberties.
I won't vote for Butch Paugh. I did, however, sign the petition. I favor easier ballot access and am opposed to constantly setting the bar higher. I may very well vote for the Mt. Party candidate just in an effort to help them maintain their access.

Nope, I'm not happy with it at all. When I heard the term "pre-emptative strike" I wasn't fooled at all. I knew what a load it was but over 70% refused to listen. They supported GWB and in he went with both barrels locked and cocked.
Then things started going bad and suddenly all those who supported the invasion were against it and GWB was a liar and a fraud and now they want out the easiest way the can get out. I don't buy it.
To me the only thing worse then the situation we've created would be to 'march out' and give the country and the region to them and that's exactly what would happen without our presence.
I'm not in favor of that of curing an infected leg, regardless of how it came about, by cutting off the lower half of the body. How about you?
Never mind. We already know the answer.

The way I see it, nothing easy is worth having. I'd rather work and achieve something then do nothing and have it handed to me. Butch Paugh, whomever he is, choose his path with the full knowledge (I would presume) of what lied ahead. I commend him for that. But I won't vote for him as I don't agree with him on the real ID Act. That and I really don't like the idea of having a pastor for governor. But it does appear that they'll get the 20,000 signatures they need to get on the ballot so kudos to him for that.
And unless one of the candidate's catch my fancy, or I really like a VP choice, I very well may vote for the Mountain Party to help them keep their access as well. Time will tell.

And just for the record Stephanie, when all you guys were supporting GWB and his 'pre-emptative' strike, Frank told you so.
Didn't you Frank!!!

Ironically I was just about to start a new thread about that.
Watch for the headline.
