Speaking of rearranging the deck chairs...
An acclaimed celebrity makeup artist for Sarah Palin collected more money from John McCain’s campaign than McCain’s foreign policy adviser.
Amy Strozzi, who also works on the reality show “So You Think You Can Dance,” was paid $22,800, according to campaign finance reports for the first two weeks in October. In contrast, McCain’s foreign policy adviser, Randy Scheunemann, was paid $12,500, the report showed.

You should talk, .... especially since you feel more comfortable by taking your wife across the river into Ohio when you are forced to take her out to dinner.

Remember, Steph, the talk we had about the people mocking Democrat women politicians because they were ugly?
Would Sam be for these women if they were beauty queen runner-ups? Of course not. He toes the GOP line almost without exception, at least from what I have seen here.
Sam is just being an ass an focusing on irrelevancies. His level of maturity is far below that of my six-year old.

To get us back on topic:
What does this say about the McCain-Palin priorities???????

Nothing. It says that image people get paid more than foreign policy experts. It's crap, but it's reality. Actors and those who gussie them up are paid more than experts in foreign policy or biology.
If you don't like McCain's policies (which clearly you don't), then I don't see why overspending on makeup would mater to you, and if you do like McCain's policies, I can't imagine overspending on makeup being the sort of thing to drive you into Obama's arms.

Re: Speaking of rearranging the deck chairs...
Well Mike that is true.
But elections are won or lost in the middle.
And independent voters are not too enamored with Palen as it is.
So this could hurt him.
Matter of fact, voters polls show she is the biggest negative McCain has.
(although obviously she is very popular with the rightwing base)

To me, this example is emblematic of the McCain-Palin priorities. This woman was paid more than $20K for two weeks worth of work. Hollywood is full of make-up artists who make a fraction of that amount, but whose work is plenty good enough to keep them employed (if not ridiculously over-paid).
It also reminds me of this little snippet:

Why does Sherm get a pass?
Show me where Sherm did that and I will jump his ass also.
So I'm sexist for going after justifiably going after Palin but Sammy gets a pass on the whole "sexist thing". So, too, does Keli, I guess.
Don't attack their policies, just attack their person.
I hate people, sometimes.

It is about hypocrisy.
Attack Palin and you are a sexist pig.
Personally attack old democrat women and you are some sort of insightful comedian.

Re: Speaking of rearranging the deck chairs...
Terry,
I agree that we should cast our votes based on a candidate's stated issues (or voting history or both) rather than on some judgement of how much makeup they wear or who their friends are/were.
I have never suggested voting against Obama because he's a buddy with Ayers. He has, however, come out in favor of income redistribution mandated by the courts. I don't think calling him a socialist is name calling. He wants life to be "more fair." That means folks like you who work very hard at technical jobs need to pay more in taxes for folks like me who teach part-time.
If that is not socialism, I guess I need a better dictionary:)

Does McCain also favor a progressive tax?
That stinking socialist.

"socialism" is just a rightwing buzz word trc.
Just like "gun control".
Or "transfer payments".
Or "redistribution of income".
Nearly everyone supports these things to some degree.
But they wont admit it.

Well bmd they must be charging by the pound for her make-up.
You're sexist because you have attacked Palin's decision to govern the state of Alaska and to campaign for the Vice Presidency because she is a mother. You have repeatedly attacked private decisions she has made for herself and her family. You've never demonstrated any indication of worrying about the children of male candidates, just the woman. That is sexist.

Steph, you are not honest.
I attacked Palin because she has made it a point to highlight her family values.
I didn't highlight that subject, she did.
I then pointed out that she is dragging her pregnant, unwed daughter around the country while the poor girl should be getting some rest (shouldn't those kids be in school).
She is also dragging her special needs newborn all over the country and exposing heim to who knows what kind of germs.
I also pointed out that she is a stay-at-work mom.
Are those traditional family values, Steph?
Where did I ever single out the fact that she is a woman?
Now you can bring up other politicians and their behavior, which I HAVE commented on, contrary to your assertions, but it doesn't let Palin off the hook.
Care to try and take another tack on the whole "Terry is sexist" thing?
The fact is that you are the sexist one. You, like many women, defend Palin, not because you agree with her or think she is so great but because you feel like you are betraying your mommy parts if you don't.

Re: Speaking of rearranging the deck chairs...
Well Steph I did not just post that out of the blue I was responding to an earlier post about how she spent 150K on clothes and makeup.
Plus I was kidding.
But you got to admit she smears it on pretty thick.
Reminds me of Tammy Faye Baker...
(and yes if Obama smeared it on that thick and spent 150K I would criticize him too.)

Perhaps Sam is correct about you and I am wrong. Either you're not as bright as I have always thought you are or you are just being argumentative.
I DO agree with Sarah Palin on many, many MAJOR issues. We agree on abortion, we agree on drilling in ANWR, we agree on reducing the size of government and we agree that Obama is a socialist who will be very bad for our nation.
If all I were worried about are my sex organs, please tell me why I didn't jump to Hillary Clinton's defense? This isn't about gender for me, it is for you, though.
I have never seen you express any concern over any male candidate's children without first being prodded by me or another poster. Joe Biden you defended until you were told one of his children was preschool age when his wife and daughter died in a car accident. For some odd reason you seem to have been under the misguided impression that Michelle Obama was a SAHM who was baking cookies for the PTO bake sale prior to criss-crossing the nation campaigning for her husband.
Sarah Palin lives her values and that is what really has your britches in a snit. She didn't abort her imperfect child. Her daughter will give birth to the child isn't exactly convenient for anybody. She frequently takes her children to work and on trips and she gets slammed for that. You did it just now, implying she is endangering Trig somehow by traveling and that she is somehow harming her 17 y/o physically fit pregnant daughter the same way.
If Sarah Palin favored abortion on demand, she'd be your hero. Of that I am convinced.

How is she living up to "family values", steph?
Is a mom gallivanting around the country traditional family values? It's OK because she takes her kids out of school and drags them around with her?
Dragging her kids in the spotlight to be used as props (look, I kept my special needs baby) (even though my daugher is out-of-wedlock knocked up, I'm still for abstinence-only sex-ed)?
Very family values.
If Sarah Palin favored abortion on demand, she'd be your hero. Of that I am convinced.
Sure, sure. Because I'm a one-issue type of person. Please!
She is an unethical person, period. She is also a hypocrite. She cries about socialism while her state is one of the biggest receivers of "redistributed wealth" in the country.
I'm sorry, is that last part being "sexist"?
Either you're not as bright as I have always thought you are or you are just being argumentative.
I'm probably brighter than you have always thought. Why can't I be bright AND argumentative?
