Public spirited corporations inspirational ....
Well I suspect some forum members do not actually get the real paper that you can hold in your hands and read while drinking coffee.
But the free readers who just browse online miss out on a lot.
Like the full page ad in today's Gazette from Walker Machinery.
It brings a tear to the eye and puts a lump in your throat to see how this public spirited company would spend their hard earned dollars just to educate the public about the benefits of mountaintop removal strip mining.
If not for folks like Walker, many would look at mountaintop removal strip mining as a destructive process that has harmful effects such as causing flooding and destroying ecosystems.
They would not stop to see and appreciate that the resultant landscape is so much better than before.
Plus the little known fact that more bugs are killed by car windshilelds than by the destruction of habitat by strip mines.
Also bugs have been around for millions of years. Surviving and adapting.
And as to flooding, they point out that, "The rains fall and the rainwater flows over and throughout the mining areas perpetually and naturally as always."
Plus that spraypainted grass is always so much greener than the natural kind.

I agree Sherm. That flood at Buffalo Creek because of MTR was horrible. Look at the loss of life and destruction it cost. And that doesn't even take into account all the damage done to the economy from acid water that has been allowed to build up and then leak into streams and rivers.
