Re: How about Wilson...
I don't know that Wilson was rude. Obama was lying, Wilson may have just been beyond fed up unable to contain himself.
I don't know where you come from, but interrupting ANYONE when they are speaking is rude. Interrupting the President and being out of order is rude and idiotic.
None of you have seen ANY of the health care proposals. Isn't it a little premature for anyone to be accusing anyone of lying?

Not quite true. While I haven't read all of the bill that was introduced I have read a portion of it. Of course the bill is 1,018 pages in length and written in legalize. What I do understand of the bill is that alot of issues are deferred to the beauracrats to make rules. In reality we have no real idea of the actual ramifications of the bill.

Calling someone a fucking asshole and a liar because they got the best of you makes you a prick. Pot, meet kettle.

Re: How about Wilson...
Where I come from, people telling blatant lies are frequently called on them as the lies are being told. Not so in Jersey?
I have read portions of two of the bills under consideration. I haven't read them in their entirety because although it isn't much, I do have a life.

House guidelines for presidential put-downs
Under section 370 of the House Rules and Manual it has been held that a Member could:
• refer to the government as “something hated, something oppressive.”
• refer to the President as “using legislative or judicial pork.”
• refer to a Presidential message as a “disgrace to the country.”
• refer to unnamed officials as “our half-baked nitwits handling foreign affairs.”
Likewise, it has been held that a member could not:
*• call the president a “liar.”
• call the president a “hypocrite.”
• describe the president’s veto of a bill as “cowardly.”
• charge that the president has been “intellectually dishonest.”
• refer to the president as “giving aid and comfort to the enemy.”
• refer to alleged “sexual misconduct on the president’s part.”
*He broke the rules, simple as that...

President or not, Obama is a raving racist, a barefaced liar, and unworthy of the office. While Wilson's may have not chose the best platfrom to express his opinion of your illustrious leader, he did hit the nail squarely on the head.
Speaking personally, I would have no problem saying what I posted here to Barack Obama's face. Had I been Representative Wilson, I would not apologize and I would wear the reprimand for my comments with pride.

Not so. He said the President was telling a lie. That's not the same as calling someone a liar.

Re: How about Wilson...
He broke the rules, but that doesn't make his statement inaccurate. Obama is a liar.
Re: How about Wilson...
The irony in all of this is that the more the Dems harp on Wilson (Carter has added race to the mix), the better he looks. I am thinking of sending 20 bucks his way just because he's obviously pissed off a group of people hellbent (literally) on ruining the country.

No. Nor was I shocked when that same body booed the previous President. I was a bit surprised at the shoe thrower.

Re: How about Wilson...
Whatever happened to respect? Did it go out the window when a new president was elected?
Your hero means nothing to me and dosent affect my life..
Your other heros, Bush & Cheney did affect my life. Thanks to them and their recession , I lost half my benefits and my medication doubled in price. Yep... I'm a Union man... UAW local 594 Skilled Trades...
So, just go ahead and poo-poo

My heros?
What do you know about my heroes? Have I done or said something to give you the impression that Bush & Cheney are heroes of mine? If that's the case I'm sure our fellow forum posters will be happy to set you straight.
I don't believe in heroes. If I were backed into a corner to name one I'd name Congressman Paul but that I don't wish to burden him that way. I don't believe in infallibility of politicians or popes, Hacker.

Re: How about Wilson...
Oh, and while we're on the subject of who cause the mortgage crisis and the banking crisis and so on make sure you take a good long look at LIARS like Barney Frank & Maxine Waters and a host of other Democrats in Congress who not only looked the other way while criminals were raiding Fannie & Freddie, but expounded on their virtues.
Oh wait, we can't talk about any of that, now can we? Frank is gay and Waters & the thief I'm talking about (but with a name that won't come to me) are black so I'm just some bigot, right?
Respect is earned, Hacker. Obama has earned nothing but scorn & contempt from me, and perhaps Congressman Wilson.

Re: How about Wilson...
Oh yes, I almost forgot........the role of former President Slick Willy and his boy Cuomo.
See for yourself.

I have heros. People I look up to. People who aren't afraid to push their limits. People like Dick Routan who with a team of 20 or so engineers and people with guts and imagination, built Spaceship 1 and made it work. NASA with all its people can't seem to do anything that doesn't cost a fortune and many times don't work.
Patrick Swayze I could call a hero of mine for the way he faced his illness. He faced it with grace and courage.

You seem to be holding Obama responsible for something? as you have nothing but contempt & scorn for him...
I didnt call you a bigot., those are your words.
Bush is responsible for the mess we are in right now. This happened under his watch.
Your blaming Clinton? Bush has had 8 years to turn Clinton's terrible economy around... he didnt do a very good job, did he?

Is the mess we find ourselves today solely Bush's fault? No. Make no mistakes however, Bush bears responsibility, alot of responsibility, but he's not the only guilty party. We have Barney Frank and Chris Dodd who pushed for relaxed lending standards that lead to people purchacing homes they could not afford or never intended to repay. We have a congress who under Bush, and in Republican hands that spent money like drunken sailors. However, when congress changed hands the spend in intrusion policies of the former congress and the president didn't change. They remained exactly the same This isn't to say anything of the intrusion on rights and liberties that has taken place for the pass 50 years or so be the congress and president republican or democrat.
With the stroke of a pin Obama tripled the the Budget deficit. Did he do it by himself, No. Congress passed the stimulus package. Both Republicians and democrats voted for it and passed it. Obama signed it into law. Obama and the democratic congress now proposes to intrude fruther into the lives of it citizens with the healthcare reform bills. Obama and congress propose to tax the public more with cap and trade and with the latest afterbirth of a healthcare bill.
We have got to quit being republicans and democrats and start being Americans again. This hyphenated Americanism and party affiliation crap has got to end. We have got to quit being dependent on the politicians and start depending on ourselves.
You inquire of Stephanie that she is holding Obama responsibile for something and she is. Obama swore an oath to defend and protect the US Constitution. He has has done everything but live up to his oath. Bush did the samething as did Clinton, and Bush the first, along with a vast majority of congress. Like Stephanie and Aaron, I hold the whole lot in complete contempt.

Re: How about Wilson...
I think the history speaks for itself.
Carter, Clinton, Cuomo, Franks, Obama......
I find it very interesting that for all the rage Democrats have expressed over the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan little more than a slight gasp was heard when Obama chose to reappoint Gates.
Our monetary system is on the verge of collapse, yet Obama reappointed Bernanke and we didn't even hear that.
Don't even get me started on the appointment of Tim Geithner.
Let's not forget, Obama wants to keep the Patriot Act.
After all of those promises what's changed? I think federal funding may now be available for new stem cell lines. Oh, and how about that deficit?
SCORN AND CONTEMPT, you bet.

While I don't disagree with most of what you said Cato, on the stimulus, you are wrong. Three Republicans voted for it and one, Arlin Spector, has since became a Democrat and the other two, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe have seen Maine receive one of the lowest repayment to debt in the nation. It received no votes in the house. That baby clearly belongs to Democrats.
