The Islamic Smotherhood

Western democracies have built-in safeguards, for example, a constitution, rule of law, and a separate judiciary. But what if all of these Muslim democracies are built on Islamist principles, agreed to by the majority? What if the constitution, law, and judiciary of a government are all be built atop the despotic foundation of sharia (the word sharia simply means “the way” of Muslim society--with the emphasis on THE way)? THe people will have all the freedom that Sharia Law permits... Afterall, The Islamic Brotherhood’s by now infamous slogan is that “the Koran is our Constitution”; likewise, Iran has a “constitutional government” — based on Sharia jurisprudence. Isn't Iran a wonderful democracy?

I know the Brotherhood would like a council of unelected Islamic scholars to oversee the government, just as a Council of Guardians does in Iran.

I'll tell you, Keli, that I want the US to have no part in what is happening over there, in no small part due to the idiots we have running the country. Their involvement makes matters worse, not better.
