It is not "defending" anyone to point out that Bush was a goddamn madman whose conduct in Iraq forever compromised the integrity of all Americans in the eyes of the world. Perhaps only former President Lyndon Johnson exceeded Bush is his own misguided folly of unnecessray and counter-productive militarism.

Well Steph if possible I think it is best to hold your fire.

For one thing sometimes people try to provoke just to get you to lose control and say something stupid.

And for another you never know what cross they are bearing till you walk a mile in their shoes.

Some republican may have done something bad to him or his family and he is holding a grudge.

But I know it is hard and I have to grit my teeth sometimes.

But if you can hold back and not respond that is the wise course, imo.

(no charge for the initial consultation... Razz )

Now just who would have figured Sherm blaming something on a Republican?

Look, I'm not responsible for what other people have done in the past, or what they do now. I am not willing to accept responsibility for the bad behavior of a President. I never even met the guy.

Nor am I willing to be a whipping girl for some loser who lost his run for student council to the daughter of a Republican city councilman. I don't expect my friends and acquaintances to do so either.

OC you keep dodging the question and throwing up strawman arguments.

Do you know of any case where someone was hit with a lead pipe, or you just spouting off?

I never claimed to know anyone who'd been kneecapped by union goons. But then we've never had card check on a large scale before, have we? My assertion was that when (if) we do, we'll see aggressive and physical union strong-arm tactics.

I note, too, that you still haven't documented all those meetings you asserted company fat cats held to punish union organizers...

OC is a loon far left liberal who volunteerd with Howard Dean. That tells you how far out there he is. He's a pathetic joke and when Ziggy attempted to defend him on the old forum, he even told Ziggy to mind his own business and STFU. He can't even play with his fellow comrades.

Well OC I am sure you are aware there is a pretty big "industry" out there specializing in union counter-insurgency, provision of goon guards, provocation methods, how to distort media coverage, and numerous other union busting techniques, including the training of management personnel in such methods.

Stevens & Lee was founded in 1928 and has grown into a professional services firm of over 190 lawyers and more than 40 non-lawyer business and consulting professionals. Each of our lawyers is involved in a high-end specialty area of the law and practices out of thirteen offices located in the Mid-Atlantic region.

You're quoting a bunch of lawyers Sodbuster. Seems about as credible as the Birch society to me.

Sherman, just because these ambulance chasers are out there doesn't mean anybody is contracting them. I've worked two strikes in two states the last three years and I haven't had any of this bullshit training.

I crossed a picket line for Women & Infants Hospital in Providence, RI on a daily basis from 12/88 to 1/89. We were forced to have security escort us across the picket lines because of the words and deeds of those picketing.

Who has the goons?

Sodbuster knows who had the goons, especially if he lived in Jackson County. I can remember seing SCAB painted in the middle of the road with arrows point to replacement workers homes and more then a few quit over the constant threats, window breakings and there were even claims of shots fired at some houses and cars.

It's not new. The UMWA killed one replacement worker in 93. But yeah, it's the companies who have the goons.

Sodbuster think's it the turn or the 20th century and Mother Jones is still doing her work.

The company hired goons to provoke problems.

That is fact.

Say what you will.

So the company hired the goons that painted SCAB in front of homes, break out windows from houses and cars and intimidate anyone trying to cross the picket line, right Sodbuster.

And I supposed the UMWA hired a hit man that shot the scab who crossed the picket line in 1993, right Sodbuster!!!
